such large percentages! I’m praying for the day when all of those say 0%. Nothing’s impossible with God!!!

    • Tom

Really? Let me know when someone regrows a lost limb.

  • Danielle Delorey

Are you kidding me? If you don’t want the child DONT HAVE IT! the world is already over populated. This site is complete bullshit.

    • Esmeralda

Ya Danielle Delorey. It’s a shame how more women don’t kill their children after they’re born as well.  I mean seriously. What the heck is the difference! They’re children inside the womb just the same as they are outside. Little brats! And the earth is overpopulated with these little rascals running around and playing jokes on adults, making them laugh as if the world was so wonderful and peaceful. The world is already a shithole. Why improve it? Right?
Sorry for the hateful paragraph. But essentially this is what a person who supports abortion is implying a lot of. Children are wonderful. Inside or outside the womb. No matter what age. I don’t believe that if a mother doesn’t want any children that she should have the right to kill them. I believe that it’s wrong. Killing innocent children is cowardly. Their is absolutely no justice in this country when murdering an innocent child inside the womb.
A child has a heart beat a 21 days after conception. When this child is aborted. This child is torn apart limb from limb by the vacuum sunction. It’s so sad but it’s true. The truth lies hidden. That is a big reason why abortion is tolerated, only because it is hidden. Go to this website. abortionno.org You will find a lot of aborted babies their and you will realize how wrong abortion is.

Thanks posting your opinions without any facts. That is helpful to the rest of us.

     54+47+44+44+32= 218%
    disparities indeed

Not to defend the pathological liars who run this site, but the numbers don’t need to add up to 100 because the statistics aren’t on what percentage of women who have abortions belong to what faith.  The data instead address the question of what percentage of Protestant women who unintentionally become pregnant then choose to have an abortion, what percentage of Catholic women who are unintentionally pregnant have an abortion, etc.

    • Anonymous

That stats comes from the CDC. They aren’t supposed to add up to 100%. It isn’t what percentage of abortions come from each group but rather what percent of that group abortions. For example 51% of non-religious get an abortion when they have an unplanned pregnancy. On the other end of the spectrum, 32% of Evangelical Christians abort when faced with an unplanned pregnancy.

    Dear Danielle Delorey,

The world is not overpopulated; the entire population of Planet Earth could live in the state of Texas, have plenty of elbow room, and space to grow.  Furthermore, the population is projected to peak around 2030 and then decline.  The problem is that the population is unevenly distributed.

In case you’re wondering, I have masters’ degrees in both economics and education; they pay me to teach this information, so I stay up on the statistics.  Sadly, you have been misinformed.

    • Stephanie

Tesas is so not big enough for us all to live in. we could squeeze in and stand next to each other as in a crowded room maybe. but we could not all live together in Texas. I think your forgeting the Chinese or something lol.

      • Xhavan

The estimate is that all six billion people could live in Texas, and each household would have approximately 3/4 of an acre, and while I have to agree that isn’t a lot, it’s a lot more than most people living in cities have.

They also estimated that if everyone lived in Alaska, each individual would have 1/8 of an acre.

I don’t remember who put out those numbers, or where I heard them…sorry…

        • 12angrymen

You’re off on the world’s population by about a billion. It’s hard to wrap your mind around it, but by the end of the month the word’s population is expected to hit 7 billion.

        • 12angrymen

Oh, and one of the main problems of over population is not that there isn’t enough land to live on (although over crowding is an issue in many cities), but that we are using up too much of the earth’s resources. For example, not only do we have to put all 7 billion people on the land but we also have to feed them, clothe them, provide an education for them, etc etc without completely destroying the environment in the process.

    • Laura

Overpopulation is a myth and has been for a long time. You can check out the Population Research Institute website (link below). They explain how population works and why it’s not as big a deal as people make it out to be. Overall though, our world and our population are always in a state of flux. Nothing stays the same. There is always change, and that goes for population and resources in all aspects.

Lbpage60–interesting statistics–where can I find more stats like these?

  • Atilla51

EXCUSE ME!!!  BUT I DO NOT APPRECIATE THE PRO-ABORT’S CRUDE LANGUAGE! I UNDERSTAND YOUR MORALS ARE LOW, BUT HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR OTHERS!

While I can appreciate the numbers listed above.  This information is derived from the Guttmacher Institute, which is commissioned by Planned Parenthood! These numbers are bogus and are just used as a propaganda tool to misinform anyone reading these numbers.  There are no practicing Catholics getting abortions.  That number is 0%.  There are only non-practicing, fallen away, Catholics getting abortions.  These numbers are just another attack on Catholics.  Designed to confuse women and promote contraception and abortion.
