Nancy Pelosi Wants to Force Georgetown Law to Subsidize Sandra Fluke’s Promiscuity

Pro-abortion, anti-liberty zealot Rep. Nancy Pelosi has inadvertently done the pro-life cause a favor. On Monday the House Minority Leader held a congressional hearing on the cost of birth control, and the testimony of her witness, Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke, put the narcissism and disingenuousness of her cause on full display:

Without insurance coverage, contraception can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school. For a lot of students who, like me, are on public interest scholarships, that’s practically an entire summer’s salary. Forty percent of female students at Georgetown Law report struggling financially as a result of this policy. One told us of how embarrassed and powerless she felt when she was standing at the pharmacy counter, learning for the first time that contraception wasn’t covered, and had to walk away because she couldn’t afford it. Students like her have no choice but to go without contraception. Read more Nancy Pelosi Wants to Force Georgetown Law to Subsidize Sandra Fluke’s Promiscuity

President of NOW Equates Ultrasounds to Rape, Outright Lies to Gain Support

Terry O’Neill, President of the National Organization for Women is obviously running scared. She sees that the pro-abortionists are starting to lose their grip on the minds of America and the only option she has left is to lie through her teeth. Why else would she write a piece for the Huffington Post that is packed with deception about the proposed mandatory ultrasound laws (recently approved in Texas and Virginia) and Republicans?

Lie #1: She writes, “In this right-wing utopia (of the Republican party), women will no longer be able to exercise the right to control their bodies, plan their families or safeguard their own health. The church and the state will tell women what is best for them, and religious entities’ “liberty” will consistently trump individual women’s right to live and work free from discrimination and in accordance with their own religious and moral beliefs.”

Truth:  Women will always be able to control their own bodies, plan their families and take care of their health no matter who the president is. Women will also be allowed to live and work free from discrimination, which she says is a right that would disappear. This is the United States after all. Republicans simply want to show women what abortion is before they take the life of their child and live to regret it. Hopefully soon, the one “right” women won’t have is one that allows them to kill their unborn, whom are actually completely different people with their own body deserving of their own right to live.

Obama Administration Pulls Medicaid Funds from Texas, Planned Parenthood Blames Texas

Planned Parenthood is spewing misguided rage towards Texas governor Rick Perry, claiming he is to blame for the recent Medicaid funding revocation in the state that will impact 130,000 Texas women.

Newt Gingrich Reminds America That the Media Covered for Barack Obama’s Baby Killing Past

Each presidential candidate had his ups and downs in last night’s CNN Republican debate, but former House Speaker Newt Gingrich had the evening’s most memorable moment. Moderator John King posed the following question:

Since “birth control” is the latest hot topic, which candidates believe in birth control and if not, why?

The audience’s raucous booing made clear they weren’t interested in the press’s latest talking point, and neither was Gingrich. He turned the tables beautifully:

I want to make two quick points, John. The first is there is a legitimate question about the power of the government to impose on religion activities which any religion opposes. That’s legitimate. But I just want to point out, you did not once in the 2008 campaign, not once did anybody in the elite media ask why Barack Obama voted in favor of legalizing infanticide. Feminists for Choice Proves Women are Often Ignorant about Abortion

Belief in abortion rights does not equal knowledge about abortion. This was made clear when the group Feminists for Choice asked women, “Can you be pro-choice if you wouldn’t choose abortion for yourself?” Most women answered the question with the same pro-abortion, deceptive language that has been fired off by abortion proponents for years. And it proves they don’t know anything about fetal development or abortion.

It’s My Body

Aurelia says, “I am pro-choice for the most basic reason. I don’t want anyone to tell me what to do with my body and I don’t think I have any business telling anyone what else to do with their body.”

Van claims, “It seems intuitive and obvious to me that I should be the ultimate decision maker of a decision that has to do with my physical body. On top of that, the fact that the majority of government is men makes it even more insulting.”

What these two fail to understand is that the baby/fetus is a completely different person from the mother. She has her own body developing with her own unique DNA within the womb of her mother. This is scientific fact. To be peddling the old line that abortion is something a women does to her own body is ignorant and disingenuous. Besides that, the government tells us we can’t use drugs or prostitute ourselves – actions that actually only affect our own body (unless of course the person is pregnant).

Obama Cites Faulty Pro-Choice Study in Birth Control Debate

If you’ve been paying attention at all to the Contraception Mandate debacle, you have mostly likely heard a liberal politician, pro-choice advocate, or TV talking head, say that the Catholic Church’s stance on birth control is hypocritical because “98% of Catholic women use contraception.”  However, the study they are citing has some serious bias and methodology flaws.

The first problem is that the study was conducted by the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute, which is closely associated with Planned Parenthood and NARAL.  It seems to defy logic that such a biased source would produce results that could be taken seriously.  This bias turns into an even bigger problem when we look at the methodology used in the study.

When you do a poll, the idea is to get a number of responses that will accurately represent the certain sector of society that you wish to study–whether that be a sector based on religion, ideology, socio-economic status, or political party.  The whole point of a poll is to show an accurate picture, but if you choose to limit certain factors, you can seriously bias your results.

Planned Parenthood’s Mammogram Deception Continues

Mammogram Machine

It has long been established that not a single Planned Parenthood in the nation offers mammograms in their clinics. However, speculation has arisen as to whether Planned Parenthood of Waco, Texas is a mammogram-providing Planned Parenthood, because when you Google “Planned Parenthood mammograms,” the first link that appears is one for the affiliate of central Texas, which strongly implies its Waco clinic is a mammogram provider:

The newsletter that the Waco Planned Parenthood published in the summer of 2010 flat-out stated that “in 2009, [they] provided 487 mammograms” and that “[they] have provided 2,683 mammograms to low-income women” since 2001:

Michelle Goldberg’s Lame, Arrogant Excuses for the Obama Birth Control Mandate

Hot off the heels of trashing Lila Rose, Newsweek’s Michelle Goldberg jumps into the ObamaCare-contraception fray with a Daily Beast column arguing that forcing Catholic institutions to offer birth control is no big deal. Unfortunately for the Obama Administration, however, her apologia is a train wreck of distortions and non sequiturs:

But many Catholic institutions are already operating in states that require contraceptive coverage, such as New York and California. Such laws are on the books in 28 states, and only eight of them exempt Catholic hospitals and universities. Nowhere has the Catholic Church shut down in response.  Read more Michelle Goldberg’s Lame, Arrogant Excuses for the Obama Birth Control Mandate

Newsweek & Michelle Goldberg Distort the Truth

NewsweekToday Newsweek senior contributing writer Michelle Goldberg presented a less-than-truthful piece on Live Action’s President Lila Rose. This of course isn’t the first time I’ve seen right-to-life opponents engage in a cherry-picking exercise to distort the record of pro-life advocates nor do I expect it to be the last.

First a bit of history on Newsweek before commencing with the fact-check. Newsweek was owned since 1961 by the Washington Post which has been and continues to be outspoken in favor of abortion. As the circulation of Newsweek fell, the Washington Post sold the magazine to Sidney Harman in 2010. Sidney Harman passed away in 2011 leaving much of the publication’s ownership to his wife Jane Harman who is a former Democratic congresswoman from California. Harman strongly supported abortion while in office including opposing a ban on the termination of human fetuses that were alive and partially born. Jane Harman now sits on the Newsweek board.

Now back to Michelle Goldberg and her piece titled, “Lila Rose: The Woman Who Sparked the Planned Parenthood Flap.” The problems with this editorial curve-ball come one after another and range from slights to major omissions.

Newt Gingrich Tries to Paint Mitt Romney as an Enemy of Catholic Hospitals

What many have decried as an unusually nasty campaign got even nastier earlier this week, as Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich accused rival Mitt Romney of being insensitive to religious liberty and conscience rights:

“You want a war on the Catholic Church by Obama? Guess what: Romney refused to allow Catholic hospitals to have conscience in their dealing with certain circumstances,” Gingrich said, apparently referring to the handling of emergency contraception in universal health care laws.

But HotAir.com provides more context, revealing that the truth is more complex. In 2005, Romney actually did just the opposite: he vetoed a bill that would have forced Massachusetts hospitals to offer abortive contraception:

[T]his particular bill does not require parental consent even for young teenagers. It disregards not only the seriousness of abortion but the importance of parental involvement and so would weaken a protection I am committed to uphold.

I have spoken with medical professionals to determine whether the drug contemplated under the bill would simply prevent conception or whether it would also terminate a living embryo after conception. Once it became clear that the latter was the case, my decision was straightforward.

New York Daily News “Cherry Picks” its Own Facts on Tim Tebow

The media just can’t stand it when a pro-lifer is popular.  While Tim Tebow was voted the most popular athlete in the nation by an ESPN poll and named #10 on the Forbes Most Influential Athletes List, all the New York Daily News can talk about is how Tim Tebow has received “widespread criticism.”  Here’s what they have to say in a new article where they discuss the pro-life ad aired by Focus on the Family with Tim and Pam Tebow in 2010:

Tebow, who is well known for his staunch religious beliefs, received widespread criticism after he appeared in the 2010 spot. The second-year quarterback, who is the son of an evangelical preacher, discussed in that commercial how his mother was told to have an abortion when she was pregnant with him.

The commercial comes at the tail end of a season where Tebow’s religious beliefs have been often discussed – and mocked – by Jimmy Fallon, Bill Maher and “Saturday Night Live.”

What a lovely invention of facts, inaccuracies, exaggerations, and cherry-picking.  First, if you’ve seen the 2010 commercial, it’s pretty inaccurate to say that Tim Tebow “discussed” anything in it.  His mom told a little bit of their story (though if you didn’t know the facts, you wouldn’t even know doctors recommended that she abort Tim), and Tim came in and tackled her.  If the New York Daily News wants to call a tackle a discussion, I guess a lot more hard discussions go on during football games than I thought.

Planned Parenthood is Caught in Their Own Web of Lies

Once again, Planned Parenthood has been discovered spewing lies left and right.

In Michigan, Citizens for a Pro-Life Society have been protesting a new “medical center” that Planned Parenthood has purchased and is attempting to remodel and open.  Planned Parenthood heartily objects (of course) to the protestors’ activities.

According to Lori Lamerand, CEO of Planned Parenthood Mid and South Michigan, Planned Parenthood doesn’t even know themselves if they are going to offer abortions at this center.  Right.  Businesses commonly purchase properties and buildings without having a clue about how they’re going to use them.  That makes perfect sense.

Lori Lamerand claims that Planned Parenthood kindly serves as a safety net for people without resources.  Out of the kindness of their heart, they give to the community.  At least, that’s the sense I get from her comments to The Oakland Press.  Where did these pro-life protestors get any idea about abortion?

Oh, right.  They got their idea from Planned Parenthood’s website, actually.  Right to Life of Michigan’s Blog calls Planned Parenthood out on their lies.  On June 28,2011, Lori Lamerand gave an interview to The Detroit News.  That interview revealed the real truth.  It states, “But Lamerand is holding firm to a plan to create what the organization delicately calls ‘a full-service clinic’ that would provide reproductive and contraceptive services, including abortion.”
