Obama Releases Statement Backing Abortion of Unborn Children

Today, President Obama expressed his support for the choice to abort one’s own child.

Obama’s statement:

Today marks the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that protects women’s health and reproductive freedom, and affirms a fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters.

I am committed to protecting this constitutional right. I also remain committed to policies, initiatives, and programs that help prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant women and mothers, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption.

And on this anniversary, I hope that we will recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.

He is a championing the genocide that is destroying his own people. Abortion is destroying our nation and President Obama continues to lead the charge.

  • Becca

How unfortunate that he doesn't feel the same about his own grandchildrens' opportunities. Very disappointing.

  • Sarah Thompson

As if Obamacare doesn't intrude in "private family matters…

  • scragsma

clueless as usual. "protects women’s health and reproductive freedom" indeed!

  • Tim Arnold

The last sentence of his statement really bothers me because this is the heart of his support for infanticide. Mothers murdering their children gives them the "same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams." God gave women the gift of childbearing and this should be seen as an honor and great responsibility, not some kind of societal persecution. Thanks to Live Action for your vigilance defending our helpless and innocent brothers and sisters of humanity.

"affirms a fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters"???? Is he serious? This government is intruding into every 'private family matter' that they possibly can.

  • David

"…Government should not intrude on private family matters." If a mother wants to kill her three year old child, the government shouldn't "intrude" then, right?

As a post-abortive woman who works with Silent No More Awareness, I would love to talk to this prideful, arrogant man who has no idea about the devastating effects of abortion on women, children, men and families. People in the abortion business lie to girls and women about the facts of their pregnancy, about what an abortion is, and about all the suffering they will endure for the rest of their lives. Thanks be to God for His mercy and forgiveness. Pray for the conversion of this president, for that could change our nation and the entire world.

Government intrudes on private family matters quite frequently, so this is a very hypocritical statement from a man who lies to the American people on a regular basis. May God have mercy on our nation….

As Commander-in-Chief, he supposed to defend humans' lives all humans' lives.

As Commander-in-Chief, he's supposed to defend humans' lives all humans' lives.

  • Gabriel Espinosa

The hypocrisy is unbelievable. If he really feels government need stay out of private family matters, then if I decide to deal a death sentence to my 18 year old son, on my property, and away from anyone outside of my family, for whatever reason, it is a private family matter, and the government need stay out of it. Obama is truly a buffoon reigning amongst buffoons!

For th last 38 years women have had the freedom to reproduce. What he means is he's not protecting the child she has reproduced. What he means is that his own children get to hear him talk about how they were just a reproductive right. If he wanted to prevent unintended pregnancy he would support more than contraception being given to children and use some abstinence education. If he wanted to help pregnant women he would spread some of those millions to pregnancy centers not just Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities. And, Tim Arnold – I am with you all the way – he doesn't understand the gift and honor and responsibility it is to be able to bear new life.

I can't believe after all these years that people, especially men, still want to try and tell women what to do with their bodies. I agree that abortion is a private issue and government and laws have no right to interfere. All the unwanted children that are already born into this world, without abortion there would be even more unwanted children and more children of abuse and neglect. Can't believe this is still an issue. It's not murder because embryos are not people they are a collection of cells. Fact not opinion.

  • David Schmidt

"It’s not murder because embryos are not people they are a collection of cells. Fact not opinion."

    – You are just a collection of cells. That is fact not opinion. Why do you have value but small humans do not? Why are you discriminating against them and denying them rights while keeping your own?

Are you saying that this decapitation abortion is perfectly fine with you? http://abortioninstruments.com

Abortion doesn't "protect women's health". Perhaps he hasn't looked at the stats on increased breast cancer rates, increased infertility and long term emotional trauma for most. Protecting it would mean Planned Parenthood would actually have to inform the women of all of these facts and then educate them on the fact that there are over 2 million families looking to adopt every year. Yeah, like that will ever happen.

I can not understand the effort that goes into your undercover operations while there are so many kids in this country that are forced to live in cars with their parents, I would think that a true christian would put their efforts into doing something positive like opening a shelter versus prying into peoples personal lives. Remember what the bible teaches us- before removing the speck out of another s eye take the plank out of your own.

Abortion is not an argument, it's a mortal sin. The three effects of having commited a mortal sin are: 1) Blindness, 2) Self Righteousness and, 3) Justification, None of the effects of mortal sin allows a person to reason truthfully about their altered position.

The root of the problem is promiscuity, resulting from pornography addiction, misdirected 'freedoms', and other pressures of a gravely ill social morality. Until we are able to effect change at this level, spoiled fruit will always be harvested from weak and degenerate branches.
