Did Planned Parenthood feed Randi Zuckerberg debunked mammogram claim?

Is Planned Parenthood repeating their false mammogram claim again?

Earlier this year Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards made the dubious claim on a national cable news program and we debunked it. In the video below you can see Cecile Richards as well as our fact-check:

Well on Friday Randi Zuckerberg (sister of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg) posted a note to her public page about a discussion she had with Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards saying:

I was surprised to learn that Planned Parenthood provides countless services around women’s health that many of us don’t even know about: preventative services, screenings for depression, pap smears, STD tests, vaccines for cervical cancer, mammograms, and much much more.

Mammograms? Did Randy hear Richards wrong or is Richards making the false claim again?

In response to our initial fact-check, Planned Parenthood’s response can be read via the Washington Post:

“A spokesman for Planned Parenthood, however, immediately denied that the group claimed to provide mammograms”

So Planned Parenthood when asked on the record by a major paper says that they don’t claim to provide mammograms. Why then does it appear that they are using this discredited claim again? Either Randi Zuckerberg is making things up, misunderstood, or Planned Parenthood is misleading the public again in an attempt to win the public favor they desperately need to maintain their third of a billion dollars in annual government funding.
