Statement by Lila Rose on Health Care

We are dismayed that Congressman Stupak has made a backroom deal with pro-abortion forces. Stupak and his colleagues have appointed President Obama to do their job for them, making the President the sole guardian of pro-life integrity in the health care plan. The chickens have elected the fox to guard the henhouse. It is absurd to trust that Obama, the most pro-abortion president in our history, will stop taxes from paying for abortions.  We can only imagine the foul pressures brought upon Congressman Stupak by Obama’s Administration and Pelosi’s Majority. If this bill is not stopped, the consequences of Stupak’s deal with pro-abortion forces will lead to the deaths of countless more defenseless, unborn Americans. With this bill, the IRS will be Planned Parenthood’s cashier as Americans are forced to fund this horrific human rights abuse.

It wasn't that hard to change Stubaks mind actually. Mr. Stupak wanted this bill more than he wanted to prevent an expansion of abortion. He's said from the beginning that if he couldn't get a compromise he would change his vote to yes rather than not see the bill pass.

Alan, if he said that, then he contradicted himself, because I saw him say exactly the opposite. Perhaps he feels the responsibility for the protection of the unborn is now shifted to someone else….

Bart Stupak is a phony. Abortion language was never going to stop him for voting FOR this bill. Here's the proof from his own mouth at a town hall meeting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URr68joWr1E

I hope we don't get a health care bill, so we can continue to PULL the plug on people who are vegetables and don't have Health care.

  • Howard Stern

Hopefully with no Health Bill more people can pull the PLUG on GRANNY like we did not to long ago. And hopefully teen's will get ABORTIONS since we can't give them Welfare check's all the Time. Abortion and Euthanasia saves MONEY and that's all i care about.

Well, Mr. Stern. Should we expect any less from you? Obviously you have no real knowledge on such matters of the unborn or the effects of abortion on women or as to why "granny" might be on life support. Though you may not accept this truth, let me just say that you and those of like mind will one day answer for the things you have said and done. You will stand before the author of life and death and on that day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. God is not surprised by you or anything that takes place in Congress today. It is our responsibility, no matter the outcome of the vote, to continue to speak the Truth in love and continue to come to the defense of the unborn and the infirm. The slippery slope started long ago and for too long those who knew to do good did not do it. So, here we are. Perhaps it is things like the health care bill that will cause people who have been quiet for too long to use there voice and the power truth to make an impact on those around them. I pray this is so and I will sy a prayer for you too, Mr. Stern.

    Abortion saves Lives

Abortion at least it keeps welfare away

  • http://liveaction.org Ken

so is it better to kill your one-year old and two-year old when they are supported by welfare so that you can stop recieving thier welfare?

besides abortion Kills, and it leaves the women (and the father) wounded, that doesn't save lives

What I don't understand is why people make such a huge deal about such an unimportant issue like abortion. I'm no fan of Obama's health care bill, because it is very pro-insurance and completely does away with any kind of public option. Most Americans cannot afford health care. Why is it that we spend so much money on our military and so little (in comparison with the rest of the western world) on public services? Using "abortion on demand" as a way to deter the working class from supporting a single-payer health care system is downright disgusting, not to mention machiavellian.

What I would like to say to Lila is, because we live in a society where having a child is a burden, abortion should always be an option for women. Until we live in a society based on mutual aid (the kind of society Russian philosopher Peter Kropotkin wrote about) where a woman would be cared for by her community if becoming pregnant accidentally and wouldn't have to sacrifice work, school, etc. there will always be a need for abortion. What we need to do is form that society. Study participatory economics as a start.
