Statement of Live Action President Lila Rose On Planned Parenthood Defunding in NC

RALEIGH, June 16—Lila Rose, president of the pro-life youth organization Live Action, issued the following statement this morning on North Carolina’s defunding of Planned Parenthood:

“North Carolina is now the fourth state this year to step up to the plate and ensure that no taxpayer dollars go towards funding the biggest abortion business in America, Planned Parenthood. This corrupt organization is responsible for killing over 332,000 defenseless unborn children each year. Planned Parenthood manipulates women to choose abortion and routinely aids and abets the sexual exploitation and trafficking of young girls. Governors of other states should take note of how Gov. Perdue’s legislature has decisively rejected her veto and realize that the American people do not want to subsidize abortionists.”

Indiana, Kansas, and New Jersey have recently passed laws to prevent taxpayer funds from going to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is challenging the Indiana law in federal court, although a federal judge has already denied the abortion business’s request for a temporary injunction.

Over the past four years, Live Action has released undercover videos revealing Planned Parenthood clinics across the country covering up the sexual abuse of children and violating mandatory reporting laws for statutory rape. In February, Live Action released new undercover footage showing 7 Planned Parenthood clinics in 4 states willing to aid and abet the commercial sex trafficking of underage girls. The videos prompted the House of Representatives to vote twice to defund Planned Parenthood of all federal taxpayer subsidies.

“North Carolina joins Indiana, Kansas, and New Jersey in standing up for the rule of law, human rights, and responsible government,” says Rose. “While we wait for Congress to defund Planned Parenthood at the federal level, responsible state governments should do their part to protect women and unborn children and end local public subsidies of this lawless abortion chain.”

      We are currently having a major debate going on in our editorial section about defunding P.P. of Title X funds. The debate started with a big article about Planned Parenthood on Mothers day by our very liberal newspaper which offended a
      couple. She wrote a great editorial titled “Behavior Not Trustworthy” about P.P 
      Lila’s information and work has proved very valuable in exposing the truth about this evil organization.  I truely believe many parents and the public are unaware of what they do. It is hard for people to respond in support of child rape or failure to report sexual abuse.  I also found helpful Phill Klines interview with Dr. James Dobson at myfamily talk.com/broadcast  June 2 & 3 called “Challenging An Abortion Giant”  also his organization called standwithtruth.com.  We are so  blessed to have these folks, and I admire their tremendous faith and courage.

    First of all I want to thank God very much for Lila Rose. I agree with her. I think all states need to defund plannedhood parent facilities.  Why would we want our tax dollars go to support such a horrific terrible crime in our our country. Let us not buy into the lies these facilities are telling us. Parents need to be supportive if their daughter is pregnant and not let them approach such facility.  Let us run them places out of business. Let us all be for the woman who is with such a precious child in the womb.

    Lila, you freakin rock…  You *DO* understand that your work to show the darkside of PP has (in only a few month’s time) changed the face of pro-life movement more than THOUSANDS of hours of THOUSANDS of prolife folks across the nation. 

    I’ve taken the initiative to harrass/hound/influence my state legislature here in SC –  I’m sure no good SC rep is going to be happy that NC has beat us out in the fight to get rid of these paid murderers!
