Amazing Video: Yale Scientist Visualizes Conception to Birth

From the Open Culture intro:

Alexander Tsiaras has made a career of using advances in visualization technology to offer vivid tours of the human body. His books have taken readers inside the human heart, the kidneys and vascular system, and also human reproduction. Back in 2002, Tsiaras published From Conception to Birth: A Life Unfolds, a book that offers a “visual diary of fetal development.” Now, nearly a decade later, he brings that visual diary to video at a conference affiliated with TED.

What’s more amazing is how he describes what he’s learned from doing these complex visualizations. Twice he talks about the “divinity” of the process of human development, and about how, even as a mathematician, the extraordinary complexity of human development is many orders of magnitude more than he can comprehend. The video is amazing and is certainly worth sharing with friends and on Facebook/Twitter:

Live Action Detractor Gives Reasons Not to Love The Unborn Child

At Live Action’s channel at YouTube, there are over a thousand comments, both critical and supportive. One in particular caught our eye this week and deserves a response. A viewer offers several reasons not to love the unborn child.

“Let’s see, unborn humans are incapable of feeling pain, incapable of rational thought, and they can not object to abortion. Born humans have instincts, they want to go on living, and that is what makes it fundamentally wrong to kill a born human. A fetus is totally incapable of wanting to live so they aren’t human in the sense they don’t have a “soul” like we do.”

If we consider that science tells us when human life begins, at fertilization, those of us who understand human dignity need no further proof that this life deserves equal protection to be defended from any acts of intentional, physical harm. Unfortunately, not everyone understands dignity and value of the human person. For this reason, we do frequently see arguments for abortion, like those above, that are offered from a strictly scientific vantage point. Do they hold water? Let’s take a look.

Pro-Life Youth Writes Original Song to Help End Abortion

Scarlett Grace has shared this song she wrote with us and we are now sharing it with all of you.

Video description: This is my response to Mary’s (I’m A Pro-Life Teen) video, asking “what would you do to end abortion?” I had already written this song before that but I thought it was a fitting answer.

Lyrics:

Do you remember when
They told you it was nothing
You could pretend it never happened
Do you remember when
They told you she was nothing
And everything would be the same
I remember
I remember
I remember the lies they told
I remember the day
You put on your blindfold
And now her story won’t be told

But I’d climb the highest mountain just to save her
I’d give away my life just for a stranger
Do you really think she’s not alive, because you haven’t seen her smile?
I’d tear away my eyes so you could see her
‘Cause she needs a saviour

Do you remember when
The choice was in your hands
But what choices will she ever have?
And do you really think
She’s just a big mistake?
Will violence take away the pain?
You could be the one
To take a wrong and make it right
And give the other blind men sight
I remember
I remember
All the
Mistakes you made
Would it ever
Be worth
Taking a life away?

I’d climb the highest mountain just to save her
I’d give away my life just for a stranger
Do you really think she’s not alive, because you haven’t seen her smile?
I’d tear away my eyes so you could see her
‘Cause she needs a saviour

I’d save her from
The fate that lies before her
I’d save her ’cause
You’ll wish you knew your daughter
After everything
That’s been said before
Remember to
Be careful what you ask for
You’ll find that if you give it time enough
Your heart can find it in itself to love
And she will be loved
Even if you have to give her up

I’d climb the highest mountain just to save her
I’d give away my life just for a stranger
I’d battle through the opposing crowd of anger
Remind them every child is a miracle
Do you really think she’s not alive
Because you haven’t seen her smile?
I’d tear away my eyes so you could see her
‘Cause she needs a saviour
And you could be her saviour
