Several news outlets are reporting today that Cecile Richards, longtime president and CEO of Planned Parenthood, may be stepping down from her position at the abortion profiteer in 2018. The Washington Free Beacon aptly summed up Richards’ twelve years at the abortion corporation, noting, “Since Richards took over the organization in 2006, the number of abortions it performs annually has increased by nearly 11 percent. During her tenure of roughly 300,000 abortions per year, Richards oversaw Planned Parenthood end about three million pregnancies.” The exact number is 3,543,305 abortions, committed from 2006 to 2016. 2017 numbers are currently unavailable.
One of Planned Parenthood’s most common abortion procedures is the D&E abortion, explained below by Dr. Anthony Levatino through animation. Dr. Levatino is an OBGYN and a former abortionist who committed over 1200 abortions before converting.
As Live Action News has previously reported, Cecile Richards is, and always has been, a political activist — not a healthcare expert. This is fitting, however, since the organization actually takes more than 320,000 human lives every year — something no true healthcare organization would dare wear as a badge of honor.
Under Richards’ watch, Planned Parenthood been caught in lies about providing mammograms (they actually provide zero):
Under Richards’ watch, Planned Parenthood has lost hundreds of thousands of clients, has seen a massive decrease in breast exams and cancer screenings, prenatal care, and other legitimate healthcare for women, and has seen an 11 percent increase in abortions — along with massive increases in government funding and profits (pocketing more than $98 million in profits last year alone):
BuzzFeed, in reporting on claims that Cecile Richards is leaving Planned Parenthood, falsely stated that The Center for Medical Progress’s undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s dealing in fetal body parts were “heavily edited.” This claim which has been thoroughly debunked. Buzzfeed continued, stating that after “five Congressional investigations and more than a dozen state investigations… no evidence of wrongdoing” was found to have been done by Planned Parenthood under Richards’ watch. But this is yet another inaccurate statement, as criminal referrals were made against the abortion corporation by the Congressional Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives. While some of these referrals have been ignored by state agencies, the U.S. Department of Justice is now examining the evidence and documentation which led to the criminal referrals, and the FBI has signaled that it, too, is also investigating Planned Parenthood.
Cecile Richards currently draws a salary of nearly $1 million.
