On October 21, 2016, Lynn Andrews shared a personal photo on Facebook of her baby girl, Gabrielle, born early at 20 weeks gestation. It’s a picture she and her husband had chosen to keep private up until that day.
“Below is a picture that I have only shared with our close friends and family,” she wrote. “It’s highly personal to Joe and I, and not something I take lightly. It’s one of the only images of our sweet girl that I will have until we reach heaven.”
Andrews has lost more than one child due to miscarriage or stillbirth. “As a Christian…nothing matters nearly as much as protecting the sanctity of human life.”
Andrews goes on to say that every one of America’s current issues — whether job security, taxes, education, health care, or immigration laws — “PALES in comparison to the taking of innocent, human life.” She reminds us that “if we’re not protecting the sanctity of human life, we have NOTHING LEFT.” Andrews makes note that Gabrielle is even younger than other babies who some think “it’s okay to rip apart, piece by precious piece.”
“Unfortunately, [Gabrielle] couldn’t be saved,” Andrews wrote. “But thousands more, just like her, can be.” Andrews urges everyone reading the post, which has been shared over 60,000 times, to pursue pro-life values. As she says, “It should terrify us all that this kind of barbaric act is protected, even encouraged and applauded, by our United States Government.”
