‘True Compassion’: CNN Recognizes Humanity of Pre-Born Baby in Remee Lee Case
Statement from Live Action President Lila Rose:
Remee Lee’s boyfriend killed her baby by slipping her an abortifacient. This is a terrible tragedy – and I commend CNN for treating the story with the compassion it deserves, by recognizing this precious, voiceless victim as a “baby.”
I can only hope that CNN will maintain momentum in this regard. Abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s many victims have yet to receive a decent, dignified burial; maybe CNN will change course now, and refer to these victims as babies, too. After all, it’s a strange stylebook that demands “baby” for wanted children in the womb and “fetus” for unwanted ones – and a morally warped worldview that would accept such a guideline.
People of conscience – not to mention people versed in the basics of human biology – reject “wantedness” as a determiner of humanity. Remee Lee’s child was a priceless, defenseless human being. A baby. So were Gosnell’s victims. And so is every unborn victim killed by the abortionist’s tools or by a cruel drug.
CNN showed true compassion in covering the tragic story of Remee Lee and her baby. May we see more of this compassion, consistently.
