MEDIA ALERT
Congress Demands Justice For the Five
Member of Congress Demands Answers from D.C. Leaders
Washington, D.C. – Today, the United States House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Accountability held a hearing on crime in Washington, D.C. Representative Anna Paulina Luna of Florida asked D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson and D.C. Council Member Charles Allen about the five infant bodies found last year outside of the abortion facility of notorious late-term abortionist Dr. Cesare Santangelo.
In response to this hearing, Lila Rose, Founder and President of Live Action, released the following statement:
“In March of 2022, the tortured bodies of five children were discovered in our nation’s capital outside an abortion clinic. Medical experts estimate that some of the children were nearly full-term, and all may have been able to survive outside the womb. The horrific wounds on the bodies of these innocent children indicate violations of federal law, including the Born Alive Infants Protection Act and the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act. We must remember these victims who were discovered and named by pro-life activists: Christopher X, a baby boy who medical experts say could have survived outside the womb and whose body was nearly intact. Harriet, a baby girl whose skull was crushed, and medical experts believe she was most likely killed via partial-birth abortion. Phoenix, a baby who was born still in the amniotic sac, likely born alive and left to die. And finally, Holly and Angel, two precious babies who were killed by dismemberment and discovered in pieces.
“These children deserved life, not death at the hands of a man still practicing ‘medicine’ in D.C. named Cesare Santangelo. The D.C. Council and mayor have abandoned every principle of justice by shielding this killer and refusing to investigate, or even do a basic autopsy, on these children. President Biden’s Department of Justice has also abdicated its duty to enforce the federal laws that were broken in the deaths of these five children. I thank Representative Anna Paulina Luna for forcing D.C. leaders to look at the images of these babies who were murdered, and I urge the pro-life majority in the House of Representatives to hold a full investigation on this matter and demand Justice for the Five.”
