WASHINGTON — Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action, will be a keynote speaker at the 20th annual Walk for Life West Coast on January 20th. 

Held in San Francisco on or near the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Walk for Life serves as a vocal and visual message that the people of the West Coast stand for life. The Walk for Life is “reclaiming life for every generation” as it calls for solidarity in affirming human life in the post-Dobbs era. 

During keynote remarks, Lila Rose will encourage walkers to take back California for life, reminding activists of their individual power to transform the lives of those around them and help save lives. 

California is one of the most pro-abortion states in the nation, and the pro-life movement stands against the culture of death at work:

• Approximately 188,172 abortions were committed in California in 2023, an increase of over 22% between 2020 (154,060 estimated abortions) and 2023, the Guttmacher Institute estimates.

• There are nine abortion facilities in San Francisco alone and over 150 across California.

• Governor Gavin Newsom has required abortion to be committed on all 11 University of California campuses and 23 California State University campuses.

Recognizing that the pro-life movement faces challenges in California, Rose will encourage Walk for Life-ers to find strength in unity and work towards a future of life:

At least 32,000 children have been saved nationwide from abortion since Roe v. Wade was overturned. In California, we have the chance to become a part of the solution that saves children and doesn’t surrender to the culture of death that seeks to destroy children. Our movement can’t be stopped because it is fueled by love and a passionate commitment to the value of every human being. Each one of us has the power to transform the lives of those around us by loving sacrificially, by speaking the truth, and by living lives of service. Our message is clear: California, the state of endless opportunities, can once again become a beacon of life, love, and resilience. Death is no future, the only future can be life”

The Walk for Life West Coast begins at Civic Center Plaza in San Francisco, CA, on Saturday, January 20, at 12:30 p.m. PST.
