Letter Encourages FDA to Classify The Drug As An “Imminent Hazard To The Public Health”
It is by now nakedly obvious that the abortion industry and its allies in the media, billionaire philanthropic circles, and special interest groups, have wanted an unregulated and demedicalized abortion pill since the moment the FDA first approved it in 2000. As you may further know, the Clinton administration approved this lethal drug under pressure from these same groups and under a highly politicized approval process. We believe this deadly pill should never have been approved, yet the abortion industry was politically rewarded with an accelerated approval process normally reserved for high-risk drugs that address life-threatening illnesses like AIDS.
Live Action Founder and President, Lila Rose, said that the approval of Mifeprex twenty years ago is a stain on America’s history, and that it’s past time to ban the drug and stop its heinous death toll:
“Mifeprex is not medicine or healthcare. Mifeprex was created to kill children, and it’s caused a catastrophic death toll and poses a serious threat to maternal health. The reality is that the success of Mifeprex is a dead child. Real medicine does not result in a dead person. No nation should so endanger its most vulnerable members by sanctioning a drug explicitly designed to target and destroy them. Our leaders have a moral duty to stop the killing and ban this drug.”
