This week, Reuters is reporting that federal agents are just now revealing that they found four intact human fetuses during a December 2013 raid of a Detroit body parts broker’s warehouse. The fact that the fetuses appeared to be intact and in their second trimester indicate that they may have been potentially born alive during botched abortions, left to die, and then sold to the body parts broker.
Other discoveries in the warehouse included rotting adult human heads, some floating face up in a plastic cooler.
Statement from Lila Rose, president and founder of Live Action:
“This is more evidence revealing the horrific, brutal victimization of preborn children in our country. The treatment of these children shows the inhumanity that results when human life is so devalued by abortion.
“These babies’ bodies seem to be virtually intact. If they were obtained through abortion, there’s a strong possibility that the babies were actually born alive and then killed or left to die before they were sold for parts. That’s because in later-term pregnancies like these, the chemical often used to kill the child in the womb before inducing labor and delivering her would not be used, as it would taint the organs and make them unusable for experiments. **
“This report also raises many questions: Why did it take a leak to a news reporter to get this information into the hands of Rep. Marsha Blackburn, one of Congress’s leading investigators into the baby parts trade? And why did this evidence get to her four years after its discovery and an entire year after her investigation concluded? Was this evidence suppressed by the Obama administration because of the administration’s close ties to Planned Parenthood and Planned Parenthood’s own participation in the barbaric baby parts trade?”
**MORE INFORMATION
The report does not indicate whether the babies were aborted or miscarried prior to being stored at Arthur Rathburn’s warehouse. Typically, babies in the second trimester are aborted by dilation and evacuation abortion, also called dismemberment abortion. The pictures show these babies were not dismembered.
The other common form of second trimester abortion is induction abortion, which involves injecting digoxin into the baby’s heart or head to cause cardiac arrest and then eventual stillbirth days later. However, most abortion facilities that harvest and sell baby body parts to dealers like Rathburn don’t use induction abortion, as the digoxin “poisons” the body tissue and makes it unusable for experiments. For this reason, many suspect that some later-term babies that show up intact in brokers’ inventories are inevitably born alive in abortion facilities, then killed or left to die and sold whole to brokers — just like the fetuses found in Rathburn’s warehouse.
For example, in this 2015 undercover footage, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains’ (PPRM) chief abortionist Dr. Savita Ginde told people whom she thought were body parts brokers that about 10 percent of their second trimester babies were born “intact” before the abortion procedure could be completed. Additionally, one of the brokers that bought body parts from Planned Parenthood was caught on camera discussing receiving intact bodies.
Babies being born intact is a strong indication that they may have been born alive (PPRM did not use digoxin for second trimester abortions). If the babies were born alive and still sold to brokers, that means they were either killed or left to die by the abortionists, despite the federal Born Alive Infants Protection Act. This practice is not uncommon. In fact, in a Live Action hidden camera investigation in 2012, Washington, D.C. abortionist Cesare Santangelo agreed to deny medical care to a viable 22-week-old child if she survived an abortion. Cameras also caught Phoenix abortionist Laura Mercer and her clinic counselor admitting to a mother that they would refuse to save her 24-week-old child if she survived the abortion.
The Department of Justice is currently investigating Planned Parenthood for its part in fetal tissue trafficking. Two companies that sold fetal tissue from aborted babies in California have already been forced to shutter after a $7.8 million settlement this month with the Orange County, Ca., district attorney’s office.
