Kansas Legisaltive Majority Rules—Pre-Natal Development Education Bill Becomes Law
Despite Veto by the Pro-Abortion Governor, the law will ensure all students in the state see the beauty of life in the womb through resources like the Baby Olivia video
Washington, D.C. – In Kansas, the pro-life legislature passed House Bill 2382 into law, overriding the veto by the state’s pro-abortion governor. The new law requires public school students to watch a video—at least three minutes long—featuring high-quality animation or ultrasound that shows early human development in the womb, including the formation of the brain, heart, and other vital organs.
The video would be required in any class that discusses human growth, development, or sexuality, like sex education and biology classes.
Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action, released the following statement:
“The passage of House Bill 2382 is a major victory for education, science, and the children of Kansas. Thanks to the leadership of pro-life lawmakers who overrode the veto of the state’s pro-abortion governor, students across Kansas will now be taught the truth about the earliest stages of human life.
This new law ensures that young people will see—through high-quality animation or ultrasound—the incredible formation of the brain, heart, and other vital organs in early human development. It’s a meaningful step toward restoring honesty and humanity to science education.
Kansas joins a growing list of states—like North Dakota, Tennessee, and Idaho—that are prioritizing medically accurate, visually powerful lessons about life in the womb, such as Baby Olivia. These states are leading the way in giving students a chance to witness the beauty of life from its very beginning. Every student in America deserves that same opportunity.”
Live Action released Baby Olivia in 2021. This beautiful depiction of life in the womb is medically and scientifically accurate and has been reviewed by medical experts. This video would meet the requirements of the new Kansas law.
The bill was signed into law despite veto attempts from democratic Governor Laura Kelly, who called it “convoluted, manipulative, and wrong.”
Kansas’ bill is just one of 20 introduced throughout the country this session that would require public schools to educate students on human development in the womb.
