Lila Rose’s Remarks Ahead of March for Life 2020

Washington, DC – Today, hundreds of thousands of concerned Americans gathered in the nation’s capital to memorialize the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in America, as part of a public demonstration called “The March for Life.” Live Action President and Founder, Lila Rose, responded to the news that President Donald Trump would be the first president in U.S. history to speak in person at the “March for Life”  in Washington, D.C.

Statement from Live Action Founder and President, Lila Rose:

“This year’s March for Life marks 47 years since the solemn Roe v. Wade decision that legalized the greatest human rights abuse of our time — abortion, that has killed over 60 million preborn children. For 47 years, the March for Life and the pro-life movement have called on society and particularly, our legislative leaders in Washington, D.C., to protect all lives under the law. This year,  President Donald Trump will become the first sitting president to address the March for Life. That is in part because the pro-life movement has never stopped advocating and demanding justice. We look for more elected leaders to make the passage of pro-life policies a top priority, including the total removal of taxpayer funds from abortion facilities. We will continue to work to protect all pregnant women from the abortion industry and all preborn children from the violence of abortion. Our culture must finally acknowledge and honor the inherent human dignity of every human being, from the moment of fertilization until natural death.”
