Helping teenagers, or giving them easy access to contraception?

Planned Parenthood

Is it easier to give in and allow teenagers easy access to contraception?

On May 20th, the Spanish version of the San Diego Union Tribune, Enlace, had an article where they first describe the problem of teenage pregnancy in the San Ysidro area. You can read it HERE

Sadly, that is not shocking news. The hidden message was between paragraphs, first, where they said machismo and religion were the obstacles to talk about sex amongst teenagers. And second, when abstinence was described not as waiting until marriage to have sex, but to wait to have sex until you reach emotional maturity.

They also said to know your children’s friends, and not to allow girls to have boyfriends much older than themselves, etc.

And of course, the article mentions, just in case a teenage girl is pregnant, there are several places parents can take them to, several non-profits, but on top of the list, Planned Parenthood.

It’s much easier to tell a child don’t do this. But if you do, then use a condom.

Some people will argue that it is the only option.

In a June 8th headline in Pocono, PA, we read the horrifying case of a 13 year old girl that performed an abortion on herself with a lead pencil. Her boyfriend was a 30 year old man that, if he did not encourage the abortion, did not take her to the emergency room. Ultimately she was rushed to the ER anyway with complications.

Feminist sites like Feministe and Radical Bookworm blame parental consent laws and pro-life writers like Jill Stanek for failing to “provide a safe abortion and access to love, pleasure and autonomy”.

My question will be, how about access to moral values, self-respect, and access to a loving stable family that all children should have?

States without parental-law consent promote promiscuity and an easy out for both parties in the event of an unwanted pregnancy. To prove this, check this video posted HERE.
