Bella Natural Women’s Care fills the need for life-affirming health care

Dede Chism and her daughter Abby Sinnet were on an emotional medical mission trip in Peru four years ago when they each felt called to help women back in the United States. They saw so much pain and brokenness in Peru, but they knew that women everywhere were dealing with pain and struggles as well, including the women in Denver, Colorado. Together they created Bella Natural Women’s Care which opened on November 1, 2014, and is helping women receive high quality, compassionate care.

“Our greatest goal is to help women be whole and that by helping women be whole, we’ll help marriages and families to be whole, and by helping marriages and families be whole, that will change our culture and make our culture a better place,” explained Chism. “Every person that enters our office is treated with reverence and dignity. Whether it’s the mailman or UPS guy or whomever it is. We are going to welcome them, offer them something to drink and treat them with hospitality and love. You never know what they have just come from.”

In today’s society, women are constantly told that their ability to carry and care for a child is a weakness. Women are made to feel inferior to men simply for being female. Babies, once viewed as blessings, have come to be seen as burdens. And fertility has become a disease which needs to be cured. This mentality has done nothing but hurt women.

“I really feel like our world is pretty broken and our world is pretty toxic and because of that in the midst of all that brokenness what has happened is the essence of who we are as women has been minimized to nothing,” said Chism. “That’s who we are. That’s our identity. Who we area as daughters of God deserves so much respect. When we’re talking about the most intimate parts of a women’s body and her secrets – those need to be treated with the ultimate respect and our world just shuts that down.”

In order to combat this crisis, Bella Natural Women’s Care offers life-affirming obstetrics care, gynecology, hormone support, abortion pill reversal, infertility treatments, menopause treatment, surgical services, and weight loss and nutrition services. They strive to give women the best natural care possible to serve women exactly as they are and for who they are.

The abortion pill reversal treatment is a service which brings Chism a great amount of joy. She says that when women take an abortion pill, everything happens so quickly that many of the women go home that night and regret taking the first pill in the two pill process. These women now have the ability to attempt to reverse the effects of that pill and save their baby. Chism said that there is a 50% success rate in reversing the pill, and that mothers and fathers who are able to save their baby from the effects of the abortion pill are filled with happiness and gratitude.

“One patient said that it didn’t matter what we did to reverse it and how difficult it might be for her, it could never feel as bad as when she was in the midst of killing her baby,” said Chism.

Another service that brings Chism joy is infertility treatments. Bella Natural Women’s Care handles infertility a bit differently than most specialists do in modern medicine because they use a natural approach. This includes altering a woman’s diet, increasing certain vitamin levels, and offering surgery to fix a problem rather than cover it up with IVF treatments.

“So much of medicine has really taken a Band-aid approach to women’s care and also with treating them with synthetic medications that are high risk for breast cancer, strokes, and clots,” explained Chism. “There’s a much more natural approach that cooperates with their body to help them be whole – mind, body, and soul. This type of care should be for all people.”

Recently, Bella Natural Women’s Care teamed up with Catholic Charities to open a satellite office, and they hope to expand even further with more clinics, including one in Lafayette. Ideally, they would like to have more natural clinics for women through the country. With nearly 2,000 patients already served in under two years, it’s clear that women are seeking more natural and pro-life alternatives than what is currently available in women’s health care.
