A Women’s March on Washington, D.C., is set to take place on January 21, the day after President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. March partners include a long list of pro-abortion groups such as Planned Parenthood, NARAL, the National Organization for Women, and the Center for Reproductive Rights. Vocal abortion supporter Gloria Steinem is also a partner. In addition, pro-abortion celebrities have lined up to attend, including America Ferrera, Chelsea Handler, Amy Schumer, Katy Perry, Cher, and Scarlett Johansson.
On the website for the march, it is described as a grassroots effort which “will send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights.” While they don’t specifically mention abortion, it seems that pro-life women are not welcome at the March.
In fact, Students for Life of America was not approved to be a partner in the March. President Kristan Hawkins plans to attend the event anyway, saying the group refuses to “sit by as the abortion giant, Planned Parenthood, a sponsor of this March, betrays women into thinking abortion is the only choice.”
“They refused to acknowledge my inquiries into being a sponsor, perhaps thinking I was a college student, even though it was clear who I represented, the largest national youth pro-life organization,” Hawkins told The Christian Post. “Even thought they put forth the message that they are inclusive and are demonstrating for a variety of issues, I think they deliberately leave out pro-life organizations deeming us not the ‘right people’ for their message.”
Additional pro-life groups such as Feminists for Life, And Then There Were None, and the Susan B. Anthony List, were left off the invitation list for the March as well. New Wave Feminists announced on Facebook that they will attend the March, bringing the message that abortion is violence against women and children.
“Well, the moment of truth is finally upon us,” the group wrote on Facebook. “NWF just applied to officially partner with the march. If the WMoW truly wants to be diverse and inclusive, hopefully they will work with prolife feminists as well!
Either way we’re still going, but it would be nice.”
Former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson will be at the March representing her organization for former abortion clinic workers, And Then There Were None.
“As a former director of a Planned Parenthood facility, I will be there to talk about the corruption inside this organization who proclaims to ‘care about women’. I am hoping to send the true feminist message that life empowers women and that women do not need the manipulative services offered by our country’s largest abortion provider,” she explained.
The original feminists of our country were pro-life and they fought, not for the right to kill their preborn children, but to be able to stand up for themselves and their families. The fact that a women’s march is not allowing certain women to participate and that pro-abortion women actually believe that the voices of pro-life women don’t count proves how little they understand about the damage abortion does to women.
