Planned Parenthood’s sign of desperation

A noticeable pattern has emerged on Planned Parenthood’s Facebook page.

I know I’m not the only pro-lifer who glances at Planned Parenthood’s Facebook page now and then. In the last week or so, a noticeable pattern has emerged on the page: supporters complaining about unsolicited phone calls from the abortion giant. Not just unsolicited, but “pushy” and “rude” phone calls.

A Planned Parenthood representative always responds to the complaint with an apology and a suggestion to contact an affiliate or Planned Parenthood’s customer service. There are suggestions that these phone calls are a prank being pulled by pro-lifers in order to further tarnish Planned Parenthood’s reputation.

I want to make a note that the following posts were made on Planned Parenthood’s wall the same week that a large number of Planned Parenthood volunteers were panhandling in my home town. I actually had the privilege of talking to a young woman, about my age, whom I encountered while I was out. When she asked me if I supported Planned Parenthood, it launched a discussion of the abortion aspect of Planned Parenthood – much of which she wasn’t even aware of.

Abby Johnson, former director of Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas, told me that it is unusual for Planned Parenthood to send people to the streets to garner support and funding. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, though: in their latest annual report, Planned Parenthood reported that a whopping $487,000,000 (that’s 46% of their overall billion-dollar income) came from taxpayer dollars, a huge spike from the $360,000,000 they received in 2009. In the last year, millions of dollars have been defunded from the abortion chain.

Although I blurred the names of those who posted the following comments on Planned Parenthood’s Facebook page, I have provided links to the respective comments. I smell desperation from Planned Parenthood.
