It won’t be available until February 5, but “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” has taken the number one spot in best selling new dramas and best DVDs overall at Amazon.
Upon release, “Gosnell” hit number 1 in Dramas and number 3 overall, but dropped to number 3 in Dramas and number 13 overall before bouncing back up to take the top spot in both categories.
“There is an enormous appetite for this kind of film that tells the truth,” said producer Phelim McAleer. “People are fed up with being fed movies that attack their values and misrepresent the world. There is a real hunger for Gosnell and our record breaking sales prove this.”

“Gosnell” depicts the heartbreaking and brutal true life story of notorious late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell, who was found guilty on three counts of murder in the first degree for killing three babies born alive during abortions in his facility. The film focused on the deaths of Baby Boy A and Karnamaya Mongar, a woman who died from an overdose during her abortion with Gosnell. As for Baby Boy A, a worker took a photo of the newborn who was born alive and killed when Gosnell severed his spinal cord with a pair of scissors. After years of dodging health inspections, and with a medical office staffed by untrained workers and full of cat feces, carpet soaked in urine, unsterilized and rusty medical equipment, and baby feet stored in jars, Gosnell’s abortion clinic, dubbed house of horrors, was finally shut down.

Despite its overwhelming success at the box office, including hitting the top 10, “Gosnell” was inexplicably dropped by nearly 200 theaters. The film’s marketing director John Sullivan told The Daily Wire that the film has been discriminated against.

“I can tell you from my experience in 15 years of releasing movies independently, we’re in uncharted territories,” he said when the movie was released in theaters. “It is an impacted fall, no doubt about it, but the fact that we’ve been dropped from theaters where the movie is the number 6 or number 9 movie is just something you don’t see.”
“Gosnell” grossed $3.6 million during its run in theaters after raising over $2.3 million through crowdfunding to pay for production.
