Stericycle, the medical waste disposal facility that once serviced notorious abortionist and convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell, is still transporting and disposing of the remains of aborted babies, despite repeated statements to the contrary.
An investigation by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) was called on the concern that A Preferred Women’s Health Center of Augustina, Georgia, was not properly disposing of aborted babies. According to the report, Stericycle is the sole contractual provider of medical waste removal for the abortion facility. Through a series of phone calls, the EPD investigator confirmed that “all of the biomedical waste that is picked up from the clinic is taken to a site that is an incinerator and that the facility has an air permit through the state of North Carolina.”

In 2011, Stericycle was fined over $42,000 for dumping aborted babies from Whole Woman’s Health in Austin, Texas, with household waste. In 2017, CEO Charles Alutto sent a letter to the pro-life group Created Equal stating that they do not accept fetal remains. “Beyond our policy, for women’s healthcare centers that may provide certain procedures, we require supplemental assurances in writing that they have licensed providers for fetal remains,” wrote Alutto. But that same year, Stericycle was seen at an abortion facility in Bloomington, Indiana, and other places across the country. In 2018, Stericycle was caught by the pro-life group Created Equal, who stated: “On three separate occasions, video was captured showing a representative of Greenville Women’s Clinic illegally transporting dead babies in a passenger car and transferring the aborted baby body parts to a Stericycle waste truck at a local gas station.”

Despite the EPD report noting that state law was being observed and therefore no action would be taken against Stericycle, the report also confirmed the initial complaint that the company was not abiding by its own professed policy. It appears that Stericycle has been found once again to be misleading the public about its business transporting and disposing of aborted babies’ remains.
