Planned Parenthood won’t help you escape your abusive relationship

abortion, sex trafficking, sex trafficker, planned parenthood

In January of 2015, 18-year-old Sage Robert Lanza took a 14-year-old girl to Planned Parenthood in Enfield, Connecticut, for an abortion. She had become pregnant through their abusive relationship and he was forcing her to abort the baby. Planned Parenthood staff should have reported that a 14-year-old was seeking an abortion so authorities could determine if she was being abused, as Planned Parenthood is legally required to report suspected abuse. Instead, it committed the abortion and sent the girl on her way. Staff did nothing to protect her from her abuser or save her from the unwanted abortion. She was not Lanza’s only victim.

Planned Parenthood markets itself as a health care organization that cares about women and girls. However, it has repeatedly failed to protect them. As in the case of Lanza’s victim, Planned Parenthood has frequently ignored the signs of abuse and has allowed the patients whom they claim to care so much about to stay in their abusive situations. Anyone who visits the abortion corporation hoping to be helped out of their abusive relationships are unlikely to find that help from the organization.

Ritchie Lee Lathrop was 27 when he began “dating” a 15-year-old girl whom he told to keep their relationship a secret. The girl went to Planned Parenthood for birth control and staff members failed to report the suspected abuse. In 2007, Lathrop was convicted of third-degree sexual abuse – a year after the victim visited Planned Parenthood.

Jane Roe” was only 13 when her 21-year-old soccer coach began grooming her, and by age 14, she became pregnant. He took her to Planned Parenthood in Southwest Ohio for an abortion and the staff there did nothing to protect the girl. It wasn’t until she confided in a teacher that the abuse finally ended and Haller was eventually found guilty of seven counts of sexual battery. Jane’s parents later filed a civil suit against the corporation for intentionally violating Ohio’s informed consent laws, failing to obtain written consent for the abortion, and failure to notify police or a child services agency of suspected sexual abuse of a minor. Planned Parenthood settled out of court.

Denise Fairbanks has said that Planned Parenthood didn’t protect her from abuse either after her father brought her there in 2004. He had been abusing her since she was 13, but when she told staffers about the abuse, they covered up for the abuser instead of helping Denise. Her father continued to abuse her for another year-and-a-half until she told her basketball coach, who filed a report. After that, Denise’s father was sent to jail. Denise sued Planned Parenthood, which settled the case.

“Planned Parenthood did everything possible to try to defeat my claims and drown out my message, that when Planned Parenthood knows or suspects that a young girl is being sexually abused, it must meet its duties under the law and immediately report that abuse to the proper authorities,” said Denise.

The abortion profiteer has also been caught on camera helping undercover actors posing as a pimp and prostitute to obtain abortions and birth control for their underage trafficking victims.

When a victim of trafficking was asked why trafficked women and girls were taken to Planned Parenthood for abortions, she told researchers from the Loyola University Chicago Beazley Institute that it was “because [Planned Parenthood] didn’t ask questions.”

Planned Parenthood committed a record number of abortions in 2018 despite an overall national decline in abortions, and has cornered 40 percent of the abortion market in the U.S. The organization’s 2018-2019 annual report revealed that it brought in $110 million in excess revenue, bringing its net assets for 2018 to nearly $2 billion. The corporation’s affiliate CEOs take in enough money to be part of the top 1 percent of the population for income.

Abortion is Planned Parenthood’s top money-making product. Abortion is also the means for an abuser to cover up his crimes since a baby is living proof of sexual abuse. Both Planned Parenthood and abusive men benefit from abortion at the expense of vulnerable young women and girls.
