Starting in February, the state of Texas will no longer be required to award Medicaid funds to Planned Parenthood, thanks to a November decision by the Fifth Circuit.
After the abortion giant requested a six-month grace period for patients to find new providers while still receiving care, the court denied this request but allowed for a 30-day grace period ending February 3.
The 5th Circuit and Texas attorney general based this decision in part on Planned Parenthood’s involvement in the illegal trafficking of aborted baby body parts that came to light in 2015. “Undercover video plainly showed Planned Parenthood admitting to morally bankrupt and unlawful conduct, including violations of federal law by manipulating the timing and methods of abortions to obtain fetal tissue for their own research,” read a statement from the AG. “Planned Parenthood is not a ‘qualified’ provider under the Medicaid Act, and it should not receive public funding through the Medicaid program.”
In 2013, Planned Parenthood was fined $1.4 million for fraudulently over-billing the Texas state Medicaid program, as reported by Live Action News.

According to the Texas Tribune, the abortion corporation, which has long insisted that abortion is only three to four percent of the services it provides, said that removing it as a Medicaid provider would be “blocking” vulnerable women from “accessing basic health care.” Medical director for primary and trans care at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Dr. Bhavik Kumar, has insisted the importance of the abortion giant’s work during the COVID-19 crisis. “People need more access to health care during the pandemic, not less” reports local NPR affiliate KUT.
But according to information from the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood commits 40% of all abortions in the United States. Abortion — the deliberate killing of a preborn human beings — is never medically necessary, and the abortion giant’s legitimate healthcare services have been declining for decades, while its abortion numbers have continued to increase. CEO Alexis McGill Johnson recently defended this fact by claiming it is “stigmatizing” to say abortion is only a “small part” of Planned Parenthood’s work, despite the claims of her predecessors.
