A pro-life pregnancy center is celebrating 30 years of helping women and 90,000 lives saved from abortion. The Prestonwood Pregnancy Center served 100,000 patients over the last three decades and helped 90,000 women choose life.

The pregnancy center offers two locations plus a mobile center, with one of its offices located directly across the street from a Planned Parenthood facility. The pro-life centers provide women with medical services free of charge, including pregnancy testing, ultrasound to confirm the baby’s due date, and other support for the mother. The Prestonwood Pregnancy Center also provides STD testing and treatment as well as classes for parents on finances, parenting, and breastfeeding.

“I really believe that most people seeking an abortion are doing it for some very fundamental reasons,” executive director Leanne Jamieson told CBN. “Often there’s a great deal of fear surrounding their pregnancy and because of that fear they’re really looking for some sort of answer, we might say hope — hope that pregnancy does not have to change their life in what they view to be a disastrous way.”

“Some of the stories we hear would break your heart,” she added. “But I’m so grateful to know that I know a Lord that specializes in the broken.”

The pregnancy center was founded by Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano with the goal of ensuring that women facing unplanned pregnancies know about all of their options, and to offer practical and tangible support to let them know they aren’t alone. “When that young woman or couple walks in through the door of our center, we see it as a divine appointment,” said Jamieson. “And in our experience, they also are often broken and looking for hope.”

“They found themselves in this circumstance and it really often reveals other areas of their life that they are struggling in… and we are really there to help them problem solve and navigate their situation,” she added.

Nearly three-quarters of women who have sought post-abortive resources say they chose abortion because they felt pressured to do so by their partners, parents, or life situations. Pro-life pregnancy centers around the nation help women to overcome the obstacles that make them feel that abortion is their only choice, and allow them to confidently choose life for their babies.
