A new trend seems to be emerging in the business of sex ed — sex ed camps for children. One such 2021 sex ed camp aimed at teenagers and “people of all ages” appears to have taught participants “of all ages” about masturbation, BDSM, sex while using illicit drugs, gender exploration, sexual liberation, and sex as a trans person, as well as how to have a self-managed abortion and what type of contraception to use.
According to its website, SexySexEd.org, Sexy Summer Camp took place virtually twice a week during July and August of 2021 with the intention of making it an annual event. No word yet on whether or not there is a Sexy Summer Camp planned for 2022. The cost to attend was based on a sliding scale of $0 to $500, according to the website. Among the presentations were “Sex with ME — Self pleasure,” “Sexy Trans Sex Ed,” “Self-Managed Abortion Info Share,” “Reproductive Health: The Basics,” “Sex on Drugs,” “The 3 P’s: Pee, Poop, and Pleasure,” “Sex After Body Trauma,” and “Contraceptive Options.”
The person running the Sexy Trans Sex Ed workshop feels “passionately about the spaces for gender euphoria in daily life, as well as through sex, BDSM, and kink.” This presentation focused on “gender exploration and euphoria through sex” with topics including masturbation and BDSM.
Meanwhile, the course “Sex on Drugs” was meant to “explore the nuances of engaging in sexual activity while using licit and illicit drugs.” There was also a course that discussed “being a sex worker or hiring sex workers.”
The camp’s description of “Sex with ME” reads, “Participants will explore personal views on self pleasure, as well as learn techniques to make the most out of their masturbation experience. This workshop will include discussion, games, and some hand on [sic] practice (on hands!).”

When it comes to abortion, the camp organizers said they would refer to the pro-abortion World Health Organization’s (WHO) self-managed abortion information guide when giving participants information on self-managed abortions and reducing self-managed abortion stigma. “Self-managed abortions” is terminology that abortion advocates use to describe using the abortion pill for a DIY abortion at home. The WHO claims that such DIY abortions are safe despite research indicating the abortion pill is actually four times more dangerous for women than a first-trimester surgical abortion. A study released in November 2021 suggested that more than 10,000 women had to receive hospital treatment following the at-home use of abortion pills in England between April 2020 and September 2021.
The leader of Sexy Summer Camp recommends that children begin to masturbate as toddlers.

One of the leaders of Sexy Summer Camp, Tanya Turner, who identifies as a witch, has created a video aimed to teach children as young as toddlers about masturbation (view the video above).
“Masturbation is really healthy and I recommend it to people of all ages,” she said. “All ages. As soon as my nephews could talk, they were doing that.” This calls into question the “people of all ages” listed on the camp’s website and is a red flag that the camp would allow preteens and children even younger to attend. But even if the camp was and is exclusively for teenagers and young adults, it’s disturbing to think 13-year-olds are being sexualized by adults and taught how to have dangerous sex, how to give themselves an abortion, and how to be a sex worker. This type of adult behavior with children is always inappropriate, and many have classified it as grooming. There is a big difference between an infant or toddler pulling on his penis and the actual act of masturbation, but Turner seems to be willing to take any opportunity to normalize the sexualization of children.
Just minutes after writer Christopher Rufo tweeted about the camp on Tuesday, Twitter users were calling for the arrest of those in charge of Sexy Summer Camp. Rufo plans to do a more extensive report in the upcoming weeks, according to his Twitter account.
Yet, Sexy Summer Camp isn’t the only camp geared towards the sexual exploitation of children. Not the Bee reported on Monday about a camp in Indiana that is geared towards teaching children as young as eight years old about sex. The web links to this program appear to have been removed.
In addition, the city of Austin has canceled a sex ed camp that planned to pay teenagers $100 each to attend. According to KXAN, Austin Public Health confirmed that it had canceled the camp, called “Spring Break Sex-Ed Camp,” which would have been held from March 14-17 at three Austin Public Library locations and at the Elroy Community Library. The event had been advertised on Twitter and Facebook and offered lunch and $100 to participants — but those posts have since been removed and the event taken off the library website calendar. Austin Public Health implied that the camp may be offered in the future.

Monica Cline worked as a family planning Training Manager and volunteer educator for Planned Parenthood for over 10 years. During an interview, she recalled she was taught to accept that children in fifth grade were ready for sex. Cline said she was told in her training to accept the idea that children as young as 10 were already sexually active — and that if they weren’t, they would be soon.

“They believe that abstinence is laughable,” she said of Planned Parenthood and its sex ed program. “They see parents as a barrier to service, because they know parents are going to protect them, and that’s actually something they told me — they wanted to keep parents out of the picture. So when we’re talking about the breakdown of the family, it begins with sex education.”
It is unthinkable that adults would believe that it is acceptable to teach children how to masturbate, become prostitutes, or any of the topics this and other sex ed programs use. Early sexual activity in life correlates with numerous negative health outcomes, especially for girls. In fact, according to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, “Retrospective reports of early sexual debut have been correlated with a greater number of sexual partners, lower levels of condom use, a greater chance of unintended pregnancy and a higher risk of self-reported STDs, as well as with other risk behaviors, including weapon-carrying and drug use.”
In addition, there are dire health consequences for teenage girls who use hormonal contraception, including depression and suicidal thoughts as well as decreased bone density and increased risk of blood clots. Abortion itself carries physical risks — and for the abortion pill, those include hemorrhaging, infection, death, infertility, and sometimes additional surgical abortion due to the high failure rate of the abortion pill.
Women and girls who have abortions are also at an increased risk of depression, drug use, alcohol use, and suicidal thoughts as well as suicide. A study in the British Journal of Psychiatry found that women who have had abortions experience an 81% increased risk of subsequent psychiatric issues, including depression. A separate study found that women who underwent abortions required outpatient mental health treatment more often than women who didn’t have abortions. And teen girls are 10 times more likely to attempt suicide within six months of an abortion than girls who haven’t had an abortion.
But the creators of sex ed camps seem to be unconcerned with any of these long-term dangerous effects their sex advice will have on these children. In a society that allows the abortion, porn, and sex industries to profit from the risky sexual decisions of children and teens, camps that have the goal of increasing risky behaviors should be widely condemned.
