Nashville preemies rock out in the NICU to celebrate Taylor Swift tour

Superstar Taylor Swift is traveling the country for her sold-out Eras tour, and when the tour stopped in her home of Nashville, even the littlest fans celebrated with costumes in a local NICU.

Ascension Saint Thomas NICU nurses Olivia Horne and Allison Harris, along with respiratory therapist Leah Landa, are all hardcore “Swifties” (Taylor Swift fans) and were working a night shift when they had an idea. “I just had the BEST idea!” Horne said, according to a press release. “Why don’t we do the Eras costumes for Swift Week in Nashville when she tours here?”

They worked together to come up with outfits for each baby, with the goal of bringing a little bit of happiness to the families, as well as the staff members.

“The babies featured in these photos represent each Taylor Swift album: Speak Now, Reputation, Red, 1989, Midnight, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Fearless, and Debut,” the press release continued. “The nurses also included THE MAN of the unit, their oldest patient and LOVER boy to all, Ed Sheeran, Taylor’s long-time best bud and collaborator, complete with tattoo sleeves and RED hair.”

Many NICUs celebrate various holidays as a way of bringing a little bit of joy to what is typically a stressful time for preemies and their families. Usually, the holidays celebrated are things like Easter, Christmas, and Halloween. Celebrating a Taylor Swift tour is definitely unique, but the reaction on social media showed how much people loved it.

“I hope the parents had a lot of fun with this,” one person wrote on Twitter. “What a great memory.”

“All those precious babies but my fav was Ed Sheeran,” another person commented on Facebook.

On Facebook, the hospital shared photos of each adorable baby, which included the albums each preemie was dressed for.

“Our Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown NICU Babies are fearless and we are so thrilled they have a place in this world,” the post said, adding, “Thanks to our NICU nurses Olivia Horne and Allison Harris and respiratory therapist Leah Landa, our NICU babies at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown are dressed in style, gearing up for the Taylor Swift concert this weekend!”
