With elections just a few months away, abortion remains a hot topic, and House Democrats are prepared to spend big money promoting the killing of preborn children between now and November. A new abortion fund will spend $100 million on a campaign dedicated to pro-abortion advertising and voter mobilization, in the hopes of electing more pro-abortion politicians to office.
The deceptively-named House Majority PAC (a Democratic Party PAC with the goal of installing Democrats as a House majority) said in a memo that it has created the Reproductive Freedom Accountability Fund, which will be active in swing districts across the country.
“The Reproductive Freedom Accountability Fund will spend $85 million on paid messaging, just less than half of HMP’s total media reservation from April,” the memo reads. It continues, “Reproductive freedom has proven to be an effective message across the country. This is evident from the success of ballot measures in deep red Kansas to blue states with local abortion protections – and the February special election in NY-03 showed concretely that blue state Republicans can run, but they can’t hide.”
Interesting language, considering the fact that preborn children cannot hide from the tools of the abortionist’s trade. “Reproductive freedom” is not a legitimate freedom if it includes the right to kill another human being:
Though the Republican Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) has pledged $114 million to its candidates, the Washington Post reports that the House Majority PAC has seen “higher than normal early fundraising.” But CLF President Dan Conston said he is still optimistic. “Our chances are better than many believe, and this puts us in a position to seriously compete for holding and growing the majority,” he said, according to the Post. “The map is undoubtedly small, and we are in a dogfight.”
Though there are pro-life Democrats, the majority of party members support abortion, with pro-life Democrats often told they are not welcome. Pro-abortion Democrats have, in recent years, been investing heavily in abortion, including introducing bills which would federally fund abortion travel as a means of getting around laws in states with protections in place for preborn children. Democrat attorneys general also recently formed a “Reproductive Rights Working Group” dedicated to strengthening protections for abortion, advancing shield laws, and attacking pregnancy resource centers (PRCs).
But despite the pro-abortion extremism so often demonstrated by Democrats, the reality is, most Americans don’t support this kind of unlimited abortion, with no restrictions, on demand at any time. Polling has consistently found that Americans support restrictions on abortion – and only time will tell if this fanaticism for the killing of preborn children will pay off for Democrats or not.
