Amnesty International, a longtime vocally pro-abortion organization, has released a new report condemning the United States for its laws protecting preborn children from abortion after the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade.
According to the report, the United States is “failing to comply with its international human rights obligations and standards to ensure pregnant people have access to abortion.” After Roe was overturned, there was no longer federal protection for abortion, allowing individual states to make their own laws regarding abortion.
“These barriers and bans to abortion create a scenario where an individual’s access to abortion care depends on where they live and what resources they have,” Jasmeet Sidhu, senior researcher with Amnesty International USA, said in the press release. “Access to reproductive care, including abortions, must not depend on the state in which somebody lives, or the ability an individual does or does not have to travel to another state. The current landscape leads to some people not being able to access abortion care, which is not how human rights are supposed to work.”
Not, it’s not how human rights are supposed to work. Perhaps that’s because intentionally killing another innocent and defenseless human being cannot possibly be anyone’s legitimate “human right.”

Ironically, one of the people cited by Amnesty International is Dr. Amna Dermish, a Planned Parenthood abortionist caught on camera by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) admitting to modifying abortion procedures so she could obtain body parts for companies willing to give significant sums of money for those parts.
“It felt like for the longest time that, every day I could show up to this clinic and see patients, I was winning,” she said. “And then Dobbs just felt like it took that away. I’m still not over it. It was horrible. I was having panic attacks every day. No health care provider should ever be in that situation. And more importantly, no patient should ever be in a situation where their healthcare provider is able to provide them care and is held back by the government.”
In the CMP video, Dermish explained what is it that made her so happy about abortions, saying she enjoyed being able to trying to extract the full calvarium, or skull, when fetal tissue procurement agencies would request both hemispheres of the fetal brain intact — and she hadn’t yet been able to accomplish that gruesome goal.
She said it gave her something to “strive for,” and also said she and other Planned Parenthood employees would marvel over the baby’s tiny organs — after killing him or her, of course. “It’s amazing,” she said in the video. “It’s like — I have so much respect for development — it’s just incredible” (emphasis added).
Both Dermish and Amnesty International seem incapable of understanding that abortion can never be a human right. Killing another human being can never be a “human right,” as it inherently deprives a person of the most basic and fundamental human right: the right to life.
