The abortion facility once occupied by a notorious late-term abortionist in Wichita, Kansas, has sent another woman to the emergency room.
Trust Women called 911 on October 21st to report a woman experiencing complications from a “pretty painful” procedure which may have caused a uterine perforation.
During the 911 call, the staffer was oddly evasive, and seemingly tried to downplay the severity of what happened. Additionally, much of the information had been redacted.
“So we’re here at Trust Women, and we had a [redacted]. We are thinking a possible perforation and, per policy, we are just going to transfer the patient out, just for extra safety,” the staffer said. “Patient is stable … she is awake, alert, oriented, last vital signs, blood pressure [redacted], and she’s on room air. Alert and oriented times four [giggles]. No syncope episodes, nothing happened during the procedure, was pretty painful minus all the medications we could give her, so, um, I mean… but for the most part, she is awake and alert and oriented, and no complications.”
“Besides the possible perforation doctor is seeking,” she added.
The computer-aided dispatch said advanced life support was requested for the patient, but the 911 call contained little information. Was the woman hemorrhaging? What caused the doctor to suspect a uterine perforation?
“We do not know what kind of condition this young mom was in by the time she arrived at the hospital emergency room. And, though it’s likely, we do not know whether she required an emergency transfusion or surgery to repair one or more an internal organs. But we do know she left a facility that named itself ‘Trust Women’ on a gurney,” Operation Rescue president Troy Newman said. “This facility does not deserve the trust of the women it claims to support, and babies do not deserve to die at the hands of the abortionists who kill there.”
It’s not known what kind of abortion procedure this patient underwent, but the most common second-trimester abortion procedure is a dilation and evacuation (D&E), and known complications include perforation or laceration to organs like the uterus, cervix, bowel, bladder, rectum and more.
Trust Women’s notorious background became even more pronounced after staffing controversies earlier this year. The facility was forced to temporarily close due to after the new co-executive directors and the medical director of Trust Women were all unexpectedly fired, with more staffers fired later. Those who were not fired were instructed to sign non-disclosure agreements, and 10 of the facility’s 16 abortionists allegedly resigned in protest. The facility has since reopened and gone on to kill preborn children and injure women.
Previously owned by late-term abortionist George Tiller, the facility was later founded as Trust Women by Julie Burkhart, who previously worked with Tiller and was mentored by him, after Tiller’s death. Burkhart was removed as CEO by the facility’s board in 2021.
The abortion facility’s current medical director is Dr. Ekwensi Griffith, whose background is not in obstetrics or abortion, but in emergency medicine. His previous experience includes opening a clinic that provided services related to erectile dysfunction weight loss, and offered med spa services like Botox, CoolSculpting, and facial fillers.
