Pro-abortion University of Florida student tears down flyers seeking supplies for moms and babies

Pro-life students with Young America’s Foundation (YAF) at the University of Florida (UF) recently reported that a student vandalized one of their displays, while stunningly admitting that abortion “sacrifices” a child.

According to a YAF article, the organization had placed flyers around campus advertising its pro-life supply drive, in which it was collecting diapers, wipes, pacifiers, and other supplies for moms and babies. Based on previous pro-abortion activity on campus, the group expected that its flyers might be torn down, so it was unsurprising when an angry student approached the bulletin board just minutes after a flyer was placed there.

The young woman called the pro-lifers “racist,” then proceeded to say that women should have the right to “choose to be able to sacrifice a child.” The young woman also resorted to a common pro-abortion fallacy, claiming that those against abortion never do anything to help women or children after the baby is born. Ironically, the very signs she was tearing down were calling for donations in an attempt to provide the help she claimed pro-lifers never offer. However, she refused to listen to reason; when the pro-life student attempted to explain what they were doing, she only said, “Are you gonna let me talk, or are you gonna speak over a Black woman?”

Unfortunately, college campuses are often some of the most hostile environments for pro-life activists.

Around the country, pro-life students regularly experience the vandalism of their displays, the disruption of their speakers, and harassment at their events. In some instances, these acts have escalated to physical violence and death threats.

Almost always, however, the pro-life campus students are undeterred and committed to continuing to fight for preborn children.

As the YAF student noted after this incident, “[T]he University of Florida YAF chapter will not be deterred from celebrating and championing life. … Life is a beautiful gift, and no baby deserves to be a stripped of that gift before they even have a chance to fight for themselves.”
