WATCH: Live Action debunks the claim, ‘No uterus, no opinion’

‘No uterus, no opinion.’ Abortion advocates often use this phrase to insinuate that because men can’t get pregnant, they have no say in whether or not a woman should choose to get an abortion. But does this reasoning really make sense? In Live Action’s latest video, Nick Freitas, a husband, father, and Green beret veteran, debunks the argument with common sense.

“Gatekeeping who can have an opinion on the topic of abortion based on their sex is sexist,” Freitas notes. “Does anyone really believe you are not allowed to have an opinion on something unless you have been personally affected by it?”

He explains that the killing of children should concern everyone — and that’s what we’re talking about.

“Abortion is the direct and intentional killing of preborn sons and daughters through dismemberment, starvation, draining the blood, or lethal injection,” he says. Despite this obvious injustice, men are being told they have no right to speak out against it.

“Men not only have the right to protect children from murder, they have the responsibility to, regardless of the child’s age,” Freitas counters. “In the womb, or out of the womb.”

He goes on to point out that it isn’t all men that abortion advocates don’t want to hear from — it’s only the pro-life ones. In fact, the pro-abortion movement has long been championed by men who have wanted the opportunity to have sex without any responsibilities.

“‘It’s her decision,’ says the pro-choice man as he abandons his child and the woman he got pregnant.”

Society pushes the narrative that abortion is only a woman’s issue, because this means the man no longer has any long-term commitment to the woman or her child, either financially or relationally.

However, Freitas points out, the pregnant woman doesn’t buy this narrative. In fact, the most influential person in a pregnant woman’s life is the father of her child.

“If the father of the child is willing to say, ‘Look, no matter what happens, I’m going to be with you, I’m going to protect, I’m going to provide, and I’m going to be there for our child.’ You say that, and the chance of her having an abortion drops dramatically.”

Instead, too many men are remaining silent because society has told them they have no voice.

“Abortion and fatherlessness go hand-in-hand,” he notes.

Freitas ends the video with a call to action.

“Our countries, our culture, and especially our families need courageous men who are going to step up and speak up. The abortion industry is killing our children and leaving broken men and women in its wake,” he says. “The mothers of our children need us. Our sons and daughters need us. So lets be the kind of men they need.”
