Texas Governor Greg Abbott was the second governor Tuesday to announce his state is launching an investigation into Planned Parenthood. This announcement comes after the release of a video showing Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, discussing how she sells body parts of aborted babies, and even uses illegal partial-birth abortion to preserve certain body parts for sale.
Governor Abbott expressed his disgust and announced an investigation of the abortion giant.
“The video of a high-level Planned Parenthood executive discussing the details of internal abortion procedures — including harvesting of baby body parts — is unnerving and appalling.
“In light of the video, I have directed the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to conduct an immediate investigation of this alleged practice in addition to a separate investigation ordered by the Texas Office of the Attorney General.”
On Tuesday evening, Abbott tweeted:
“I already sued Planned Parenthood for Medicaid Fraud. Now Texas will look into these organ harvesting claims.”
Texas has already worked diligently to defund Planned Parenthood and pass pro-life laws, making it one of the states that protects preborn life the best. Many expect that the Supreme Court will hear an abortion case for the first time in 25 years because of its recent emergency stay on Texas’ full implementation of HB2.
Governor Abbott has been a vocal proponent of pro-life laws and continues the works of previous governor and current presidential candidate, Rick Perry, in fighting Planned Parenthood in the Lone Star State.
