Dem. Whip Hoyer: Planned Parenthood not “harvesting anything”

Despite admitting he has not yet watched the footage released by the Center for Medical Progress of Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of organs from aborted babies, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer told CNS News on Tuesday he does not believe the abortion giant has done anything wrong.

“Planned Parenthood is doing very, very important services for literally hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of women as relates to their health,” Hoyer claimed. “I haven’t reviewed the tapes, but I’ve read articles on them. And, certainly, the Congress, as I understand it, will be having hearings on it and I’ll be interested to see when that is.”

The leading Democrat went on to pledge, “I’m not going to jump to conclusions,” but then declared, “I reject any premise that Planned Parenthood is harvesting fetal organs, or body parts, anything.”

“Organ harvesting” simply means the removal and preservation of human organs for future use. While abortion defenders deny that Planned Parenthood broke associated laws on profiting from such practices and violating the federal partial-birth abortion ban to obtain organs, whether they harvested organs is not in dispute.

As Live Action News has previously reported, Hoyer has 100% pro-abortion scores from Planned Parenthood and NARAL, and has supported legislation prohibiting states from setting their own abortion policies and forcing pro-life organizations in the District of Columbia to hire pro-abortion employees.
