The March for Life marks the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, which legalized abortion-on-demand in the United States. More than 57 million lives are estimated to have been taken through abortion since then. Each year, the March, which starts near the Washington Monument and ends outside the Supreme Court, attracts thousands of pro-lifers from across the country.
This year, the March’s theme will be “Pro-Life and Pro-Woman Go Hand in Hand,” to counter the pro-abortion narrative that preborn babies cannot be protected without harming their mothers.
“The truth is that life is the empowering choice for women,” the Education & Defense Fund said. “It’s best for women and families facing unplanned pregnancies, and it’s best for developing female babies in the womb. Abortion harms women, and affects our society as a whole, in so many ways.”
Full details on participating in the March can be found on the organizers’ website. Interested pro-lifers can also sign up at the event’s official Facebook page.
