NARAL endorses Hillary Clinton for President

On Tuesday, NARAL Pro-Choice America officially endorsed Hillary Clinton for President, and announced they would support her campaign through advertising and grassroots activism in Iowa.

“Hillary has what it takes to fight Republican attacks on women’s reproductive rights, and has the vision and experience to ensure women and families thrive,” NARAL president Ilyse Hogue said.

The pro-abortion organization’s statement went on to note that the former First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State holds 100% voting records with NARAL throughout her entire Senate career, as she does with Planned Parenthood. Clinton’s record includes voting against banning partial-birth abortions, voting against the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, and pushing for international recognition of abortion as a “right” during her time at the Obama State Department.

Clinton has also denounced Republican efforts to investigate Planned Parenthood’s harvesting and sale of aborted babies’ organs as a “partisan witch hunt,” and has gone so far as to compare pro-life presidential candidates to “some of the terrorist groups” and “people who don’t want to live in the modern world.”

In 2008, NARAL opted to endorse Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton, which many saw as a snub at the time. But this week Clinton said only, “I am honored to earn the endorsement of” the abortion-on-demand advocacy group, which she called “one of our country’s leading advocates for reproductive rights.”
