‘Abortion is not a cure’: Grateful children of rape survivors sound off on Twitter

Abortion is not a compassionate choice for a woman who has been raped. It is another violent act forced upon the body of two innocent victims: the rape survivor and her preborn child.  As the debate over abortion reaches new heights across the country, people are speaking up, including many whose mothers were raped and chose life. Their voices deserve to be heard.

Live Action News has edited the images to protect Twitter users’ identities.

“Abortion is not a cure for rape. It is heinous to kill a child for the crimes of the father.”

If you were raped or were conceived in rape, these organizations that can offer you support:

Ever since the abortion debate began, the American public has been told that abortion is necessary in cases of rape, incest and when the life of the mother (or health of the preborn baby) is at risk. Live Action News has previously documented that while advocates of abortion push these “exceptions,” only a tiny fraction of the so-called “hard cases” (out of approximately a million abortions annually in the U.S.) are why women abort.

But each one of those babies — regardless of the circumstances of conception — is a human person worthy of protection. For this reason, Live Action News has featured numerous stories from courageous women who chose life for their babies conceived in rape, diagnosed with disabilities, or thought to be “incompatible with life.”

Their stories inspire us to think consistently about our own rhetoric regarding abortion. We can no longer throw these children aside for the sake of political debate. As these women speak out and testify to the sanctity of each life, the profitable abortion lobby continues to promote abortion as a solution to any problem a women encounters.

In the word’s of one rape survivor, “They are using the story of the one percent to justify the slaughter of the other ninety-nine.”

But these inspiring stories are growing louder, and as a result, more lives can and will be spared.

The fact is that, if you believe abortion is the taking of an innocent human child, you cannot advocate killing a person for the crime of his or her father.
