In an interview for Think Atheist, an unnamed abortionist calls herself an “abortion specialist” and claims to commit “literally hundreds of abortions a year” in both the first and second trimesters.
The abortionist admits to performing abortions while pregnant with her own children. She claims that the women having abortions looked at her with appreciation, not horror, when seeing a visibly pregnant woman aborting their babies. She also says she tells very few people about her job, hiding what she does from others. Other abortionists have written about the stigma they face as abortion doctors, due to the gruesome realities of their job that others in the medical field are aware of.
It is unsettling that this abortionist dismembered preborn children in the womb even while carrying her own. But what is most striking about her testimony is how she refers to the children she kills.
First, she writes about abortions in the first trimester.
First trimester abortions (dilation and curettage, D&C) are very unremarkable. Our patients are awake but sedated. The procedure is performed with a suction curette (hard plastic tube), and in the hands of an experienced abortionist, suctioning out the pregnancy lasts less than a minute. The “products of conception” come out as just a mass of undefined tissue about the size of a golf ball.
A simple look in an embryology textbook or a fetal development site shows that this information is false. In fact, a preborn baby in just the ninth week of pregnancy (the seventh week after conception) has arms, legs, fingers, and toes. By ten weeks, the limbs are fully developed and the baby has taken on an unquestionably human profile. A former abortionist, Dr. Anthony Levatino, describes what actually takes place in a first trimester D&C abortion in the video below:
Even Willie Parker, a practicing abortionist who has committed thousands of abortions and continues to do them, acknowledges that the body of an aborted baby is not simply “undefined tissue.” In his book, “Life’s Work: From the Trenches, A Moral Argument for Choice,” he writes:
[I] inspect what has just come out of the woman’s body: what I’m looking for is the fetal sac, which, at a later gestational age, becomes the placenta, and, after nine weeks, every one of the fetal parts – head, body, limbs – like a puzzle that has to be put back together…I make sure I find every part, and I place them together, re-creating the fetus in the pan. I have done this so many times that it is has become routine: no matter what these parts may look like, this is organic matter that does not add up to anything that can live on its own. This phase of the process is crucial as any other.
While the abortionist interviewed by Think Atheist makes blatantly false statements about first trimester abortions — that even her fellow abortionists disagree with — when she speaks about second trimester abortions, her words are surprisingly accurate:
Second trimester abortions…[are] much more difficult and riskier for the mom, hence the limited number of us who actually do them. They are also unpleasant, because the procedure (dilation and evacuation, D&E) involves pulling out the baby in pieces.
We see her use the word “baby.” This abortionist acknowledges that she aborts babies. She also calls the women pregnant with these children “moms.” Dr. Levatino describes D&E abortions in the video below:
Why does the abortionist lie about abortions in the first trimester but admit to killing babies in the second? It’s hard to say. Perhaps it’s her way of rationalizing what she does. But some part of her definitely aware that she is taking the lives of children who have mothers.
Moreover, she is hardly the first abortionist to refer to preborn children as babies.
In an article in American Medical News, another abortionist states:
I have angry feelings at myself for feeling good about grasping the calvaria [head], for feeling good about doing a technically good procedure that destroys a fetus, kills a baby. (Emphasis mine)
At Clinicquotes.com, you can read many quotes by abortionists and abortion workers admitting that they are destroying life.
When abortion doctors themselves say they kill babies, there can be very little argument against the humanity of the preborn and what abortion does to them.
