Abortion extremists reacted to the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion on the Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, which, if finalized, would overturn Roe v Wade. On May 2, a strident abortion supporter apparently called upon others to target Portland’s pro-life pregnancy centers:
Just two days later, a Pregnancy Resource Center in Portland was indeed targeted. Its windows were smashed and graffiti was spray-painted on its exterior. “F*** CPCs” is referencing the abbreviation for the term “crisis pregnancy centers”:
According to Alexandra DeSanctis of National Review:
The entire purpose of a CPC [Crisis Pregnancy Center] is to help women consider abortion alternatives and obtain the assistance they need to make it easier for them to continue pregnancy and give birth to their child. For some mothers, this means considering and choosing adoption. For others, it looks more like offering financial or material support that the mother isn’t receiving from the child’s father or from her family. For others, it might simply be counseling and encouragement, the assurance that motherhood is a worthwhile choice and one that the woman is capable of undertaking.

Pregnancy centers exist to support moms with both material and less tangible assistance. Contrary to pro-abortion propaganda, they do not trick or force anyone into accepting their help. A 2018 study by the Charlotte Lozier Institute showed that approximately 2 million people utilize the services of pregnancy centers annually.
Targeting pregnancy centers for violence, in essence, puts the women and children who rely upon these centers for assistance in the crosshairs.
