Plenty of Republican presidential candidates have responded to the videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, which show Planned Parenthood executives haggling over the sale of body parts from aborted babies.
Until now, there has been a noticeable silence from Democrat candidates (with the exception of Bernie Sanders). Many people were especially waiting to see how Hillary Clinton would respond. Clinton won the Margaret Sanger Award in 2009, and is an ardent supporter of both abortion – including late-term abortion –and of Planned Parenthood. How would she react to these horrific videos?
Well, Clinton has finally broken her silence.
And perhaps unsurprisingly, she has come to Planned Parenthood’s defense.
“I don’t have all the facts but Planned Parenthood has apologized for the insensitivity of the employee who was taped and they will continue to answer questions for congress and others, but for more than a century planned parenthood has provided essential services for women,” Clinton said. “Not just reproductive health services, including access to affordable family planning, but cancer screenings, for example and other health checkup.”
… “I think it is unfortunate that Planned Parenthood had been the object of such a concerted attacks for so many years and it’s really an attack against women’s rights to choose, to make the most personal, difficult decisions that any women would face based on her faith and her medical advice that she is given. So I am hoping that this situation will not further undermine the very important services that Planned Parenthood provides,” she concluded.
It is important to note that Clinton didn’t even acknowledge what these undercover videos have unveiled. Either she isn’t bothered by the fact that Planned Parenthood officials could casually negotiate the price of the body parts of preborn babies over lunch – with Dr. Mary Gatter in the second video laughing about how she wants a Lamborghini – or Clinton is so invested in protecting Planned Parenthood and, by extension, abortion, that she will ignore any and all lawless behavior, no matter how gruesome and despicable.
It is also sad to see that Clinton is parroting the typical lie about Planned Parenthood – that they are an essential provider of women’s health services. Planned Parenthood’s business is abortion, first and foremost. Their own annual reports have made that unmistakably clear.
Under Cecile Richards, breast exams, breast health care, cancer screenings, prenatal services, adoption referrals – all have been slashed. But the number of abortions they perform have skyrocketed, despite the fact that Planned Parenthood sees less clients than in years past.
But that doesn’t stop Clinton from referring to them as a health care provider, rather than what they actually are: the nation’s largest abortion provider, where executives are apparently not content to just take the lives of preborn babies for money. They have to then further exploit these innocent preborn children by selling their body parts to the highest bidder as well.
And all Hillary Clinton can say is that Planned Parenthood is providing “important services.”
