California has made an announcement that it is putting even more resources into abortion, spending $20 million to both increase the state’s “reproductive healthcare workforce” and train pharmacists to “provide comprehensive reproductive health services.”
According to a news release, the money will be used to support the state’s Reproductive Health Service Corps (RHSC) and the Pharmacists Comprehensive Abortion and Reproductive Health Empowerment (Pharmacists CARE). The RHSC focuses on training abortionists, diversifying the workforce, and training other medical professionals to refer for abortions, while Pharmacists CARE will expand the abortion pill’s reach and make chemical abortions more widely available, as well as encourage more pharmacies to distribute the abortion pill.

“In this volatile time after the overturning of Roe v. Wade by extremist judges, California will continue to support women in California and across the country,” Governor Gavin Newsom said in a statement. “We have invested hundreds of millions of dollars to expand access to services, support people in need of care, and protect people providing care. Regardless of what out-of-touch and radical politicians may do, California will continue its nation-leading fight for reproductive freedom.”
This is the result of so-called “reproductive freedom”:
California Health Human Services Agency Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly said: “With this $20 million investment, California is embarking on a transformative journey to ensure that reproductive health care is both accessible and equitable. This investment marks a significant stride toward a healthier, more inclusive future for California.”
Despite the claim that the funding will help make the state healthier, abortion is not health care. It always ends one life – that of the preborn child – while putting the life of the mother at risk. Studies have shown that the abortion pill is four times more dangerous than first-trimester surgical abortion, while other studies have shown that six percent of women who used the abortion pill required treatment at ERs or urgent care facilities for complications.
During his time as California’s governor, Newsom has done much to advance abortion and endanger preborn lives. He has spent millions in state money on shoring up the security of abortion facilities, creating task forces designed to promote abortion, stockpiling the deadly and dangerous abortion pills, and spearheading a constitutional amendment that makes abortion a constitutional “right.”
The state has also done much to persuade women from other states to travel there for abortion. The killing of preborn children is a big business, and California is doing all it can to capitalize on the ending of these innocent lives.
