Today, on the west steps of the Capitol in Denver, a group of concerned citizens and community leaders called on the government to investigate Planned Parenthood.
The rally was part of the #WomenBetrayed movement, which is exposing how Planned Parenthood – and the abortion industry as a whole – lies to women, harms them physically and emotionally, and kills and sells the bodies of their children.
One of the most horrifying undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress was taped at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Denver. Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains is one of the most corrupt branches of the abortion giant.
Yet, the Colorado government remains silent. Despite pressure from average citizens and legal experts, the government has so far refused to respond.

Alliance Defending Freedom sent a second letter Monday on behalf of Colorado Family Action to Colorado’s governor, speaker of the house, and senate president asking for an investigation of Planned Parenthood and an immediate end to taxpayer funding of the abortion giant (#DefundPP). The first letter was sent in July amidst controversy concerning Planned Parenthood’s apparent sale of baby body parts and its Colorado affiliate’s negligence in reporting the rape of a minor.
“American tax dollars should only be used to foster the health and well-being of women—not as part of Planned Parenthood’s barbaric baby parts sale scheme,” said ADF Legal Counsel Natalie Decker. “America does not need Planned Parenthood, which is only used by a very small minority of women. Women are better served by the numerous community health clinics that care about women instead of an organization that puts its bottom line first and manipulates abortion procedures in order to obtain viable baby body parts to sell.”
On the Capitol steps, ADF Senior Counsel, Michael J. Norton, announced that Governor Hickenlooper had not even bothered to give the courtesy of a response.
Norton decried the “conspiracy of violence” in Colorado, demonstrated by the state’s complete refusal to act in the face of the incriminating evidence that continues to pile up against Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.
It was Dr. Savita Ginde, Vice President and Medical Director of PPRM who was caught on tape exclaiming that a just-aborted baby was “another boy.” Ginde admitted that roughly 10% of second-trimester babies at PPRM are born before the abortion is performed, raising legal questions of whether these babies are born alive and killed or left to die. Norton asserted that all citizens can agree that the activities Planned Parenthood has been participating in are not worth financing with our money. Yet because Planned Parenthood has “so much money, so much power, so much influence,” they are working hard to prevent the state government from investigating and defunding.
Meanwhile, women are being harmed and betrayed by Planned Parenthood.
- Ayanna Byer was forced into an abortion at a PPRM clinic. Her abortion was botched, and she ended up an emergency room, where the hospital doctor “accused Planned Parenthood of abandoning their patient.”
- Nancy recently told of being illegally pressured into “donating” her baby as a condition of abortion at Planned Parenthood. She was told her baby was not a baby.
- When Addison was 17, Planned Parenthood pushed her towards abortion, and when she rejected it, the abortion giant informed her they don’t have doctors for pregnant women.
- “According to information obtained from a recently settled civil lawsuit…two [PPRM} employees failed to comply with Colorado law by not reporting the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl, performed an abortion on the girl without giving notice to her parents, and returned her to the custody of the sexual predator, who continued to sexually molest her.” [More info here.]
Leaders at the #WomenBetrayed rally – including Debbie Chaves of Colorado Family Action, Sarah Zagorski of Colorado Citizens for Life, and Lauren “Lo” Castillo of Students for Life of America – urged citizens to write to their state legislators, Senator Michael Bennett, Governor John Hickenlooper, Attorney General Cynthia Coffman, and the Board of Health in Colorado. Chaves stated that the Board of Health should be asked to publicly publish what the regulations for abortion clinics in Colorado are.
