Good Friday prayer vigils to be held at abortion facilities nationwide

The Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League will be holding its ninth annual Way of the Cross for Victims of Abortion this coming Friday, April 14, 2017, at multiple locations across the country. Click here to find your state’s locations.

The event, writes The Stream, is “an opportunity to pray for mothers and their babies, but also to become actively involved in the pro-life movement in a nonconfrontational way.” Meeting women who are considering abortion is one of the main aims of the prayer vigil, but making an impact on the surrounding community is also part of the mission.

Eric Scheidler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League, told The Stream, ““People will be reminded of abortion. They’ll realize there’s something wrong in their community. We hope and pray these events will save children’s lives.”

Scheidler expects 5,000 to 10,000 people to participate in the event this year, which grows annually. Last year, prayer vigils were held at 80 abortion facilities.

If you do not see your local abortion facility’s location listed for a prayer vigil here, you may download the Pro-Life Action League’s guide on how to hold a Way of the Cross event in your community.
