LIVE ACTION PRAISES HOUSE ENERGY & COMMERCE COMMITTEE
IN PROTECTING WOMEN AND CHILDREN FROM ABORTION

Statement from Lila Rose, President of Live Action:

We applaud and fully support members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee in their efforts to protect women and babies from the horrors and atrocities going on inside America’s abortion centers. But this should only be a first step. Given the gruesome revelations emanating from the Gosnell trial and Live Action’s Inhuman investigation exposing many other clinics, Gosnell  is clearly not alone. In fact, in many abortion centers, these gruesome practices seem to be standard operating procedure.

As our Inhuman investigation reveals, there are many abortion centers across the country most willing to engage in the destruction of human life, whether a baby is still in the womb or born alive after a failed abortion. Live  Action’s investigation shows that the inhuman practices going on inside abortion centers, where babies are gruesomely killed  in the womb or left to die after a failed abortion, are just another day at the office for many abortion center doctors and employees.

Not only are babies born alive protected by the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, but they are also afforded rights under the equal protection clause in the 14th Amendment to our Constitution.

In order to put an end to the atrocities and human rights abuses  going on inside America’s abortion centers, Congress must move forward with hearings to learn more about the threat to women and babies resulting from the gruesome practices taking place in the abortion industry. Babies are being slaughtered, and women are being put in harm’s way. There must be a thorough review of our nation’s laws and regulations when it comes to abortion and the destruction of human life and the dangerous threat to women.
