Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and his wife Marissa welcomed their first baby on January 4, 2025 — a little girl named Shae. And they celebrated in heartwarming fashion, by spreading the love to other babies and their families.
Wanting to share the joy, on January 13, they gifted a Jaguars onesie to all the newborns in Baptist Health hospitals. All sported the number 16, which is the number Trevor wears for the Jaguars.
The couple had announced their pregnancy in June with a series of sweet photos, captioned, “A little Lawrence on the way.” On her Instagram page, Marissa shared how initially, doctors told her to expect a miscarriage.
“We go to our first appointment and based off my last period I should’ve been measuring six weeks,” she began. “Our doctor at the time had the sonogram up and basically said she is not seeing what she would expect to be seeing at six weeks and prepared us for a miscarriage. We left the doctor’s office crying and confused.”
Due to bloodwork showing hormone levels inconsistent with Marissa’s last period, the doctor told her she “should expect to have a miscarriage within the week.” She said, “The doctor told me the name of the miscarriage, told me how sorry they were, told me I just had to resume life as normal and I could even drink a glass of wine, and told me if I don’t bleed naturally within the week we will have to discuss options moving forward.”
“So I call Trevor crying,” she said, “asking him to come home from golf and we just spend the night comforting each other and reaching out to our families and some close friends to let them know to be praying for us and this is not the way we ever expected to share a pregnancy news with them.”

But it turned out, Marissa wasn’t having a miscarriage; she had simply ovulated later than expected.
“It’s funny how a doctor gave me no hope and I believed it,” she said. “I just immediately trusted what they said and knew was bigger than what I could desire and hope for.”
The gifts to the other newborns was a sweet way for the happy parents to spread the joy as they embark on parenthood — a journey that, according to Marissa, Trevor is more than prepared for.
“Trev you are the love of my life! I can’t wait to watch you become a dad,” she wrote in the weeks leading up the little Shae’s birth.
“Thank you for the way you constantly show up for me, the way you love me, your patience and kindness. Thank you for always being my best friend and wanting to make me happy. Thank you for always trying to see my side and understand me. Thank you for always coming home and choosing joy,” she wrote.
“Our little girl is going to know what unconditional love looks like because of you. She will never go a day without knowing how cared for and loved she is by us,” she continued. “I already know you’re going to be her hero and she is going to be so proud that you are her dad! I love you and our girl so much.”
