Jewish pro-life group calls out ‘Mengele research’ at University of Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh

(Jewish Pro-Life Foundation) Taxpayer funded medical research using aborted baby parts at the University of Pittsburgh represents the spiritual, political, and cultural rot of a nation founded on the right to life, representative government, and equality under the law.

Paul Supowitz, the university’s vice chancellor, earlier this year denied any wrongdoing at Pitt when questioned by PA state house investigators about an NIH funded experiment grafting fetal scalps with “full-thickness human skin” onto mice. Recently, FOIA requests revealed that the university received NIH grants to develop a ‘Tissue Hub’ for aborted baby parts and for research that uses organs harvested from healthy born alive babies. The research project, the GenitoUrinary Development Molecular Anatomy Project (GUDMAP), uses kidneys and other organs procured from full term infants and has a 50% quota for aborted babies of color.

David Seldin, the university’s vice chancellor for communications, denied Pitt’s responsibility for organ harvesting methods from born alive aborted babies. He justified the use of racial quotas to better represent diseases in minority communities.

Jews in Auschwitz were captive subjects of medical experiments done without anesthesia. Jewish subjects of medical research lacked personhood and protection under Nazi law. Mr. Supowitz, did the researchers do nothing wrong? The babies who are tortured and sacrificed for your employer’s financial gain similarly are denied personhood and protection under American law. Is the University doing nothing wrong?

Nazi propagandists claimed these racially targeted medical experiments were for humanitarian purposes. Mr. Seldin, did that justify their crimes? Similarly, the University defends racial quotas and purchasing organs from babies who are tortured and sacrificed as educational efforts helpful to minority communities. Does this justify the university’s crimes?

The screams of pain and terror of these innocent babies go unrecorded. However, testimony of an Auschwitz survivor, whose kidney was removed without anesthesia, speaks for those who cannot speak for themselves. From Newser:

An Auschwitz survivor finally saw a doctor for the first time in 65 years after suffering a near-fatal heart attack. Upon recovery, the 85-year-old Israeli man explained why: As a young man imprisoned at the camp, notorious Nazi doctor Josef Mengele tied him to a table and removed his kidney without anesthesia. “I saw the kidney pulsing in his hand and cried like a crazy man. I screamed the ‘Shema Yisrael.’ I begged for death, to stop the suffering.”

Torturing and murdering innocents is unconscionable and criminal according to Jewish law. Both Mr. Supowitz and Mr. Seldin identify as Jewish. We entreat them to denounce their public justifications of child murder, racial quotas, and crimes against humanity, and ask the Pittsburgh Jewish community to publicly apologize for their statements. As Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur approach, Jews examine their thoughts, words, and actions in preparation for a renewed relationship with God. We pray Mr. Supowitz and Mr. Seldin seek mercy and forgiveness from our Creator for their defense of these heinous atrocities….
