Hip-hop star Lizzo premiered a new shapewear line on January 22, the anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision — and used it as an opportunity to promote abortion.
In a tweet, she showed women posing in outfits from “Yitty,” her new clothing line, but she also used the occasion to argue for abortion. “MY BODY IS NOBODYS BUSINESS,” she wrote. “On what would’ve been the 50th anniversary of roe v. wade we share our stories — reproductive care is health care.”
She then shared photos of five women who all gave pro-abortion testimonials, including Amelia Bonow, founder of the “Shout Your Abortion” movement. The photos of Lizzo herself were captioned with more pro-abortion messaging.
“Yitty is Body autonomy,” it said. “We don’t just liberate our bodies through clothing. We liberate bodies by raising our voices. As a brand committed to uplifting all people, we are devastated by the reversal of Roe v. Wade. We believe that only you should have a say in what you do and how you feel about your body.”

Fox News further reported that, at last year’s appearance at the South by Southwest Festival, Lizzo also promoted abortion. “The abortion ban is atrocious,” she said. “Mind your business. Stay out of my body.”
At the 2022 People’s Choice Awards, Lizzo also praised Bonow, who she says “is working to normalize abortion, increase awareness of abortion pills and motivate people to work and support abortion access in their communities.” Lizzo also pledged half a million dollars from her concert proceeds to be given to Planned Parenthood.
Abortion ends innocent human lives, making it the opposite of health care, and it hurts women. Many women have been coerced and pressured into abortion — a fact that abortion advocates like Lizzo and Bonow frequently ignore.
