Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey announced Tuesday that the state Department of Public Health (DPH) has allocated $1.8 million to expand abortion access by helping low-income women to pay for abortions and paying to upgrade current abortion facilities.
According to a statement, the DPH funding was allocated under Reproductive Health Access, Infrastructure, and Security Grants. The money gives “financial assistance to individuals seeking abortion care, while also improving the ability of abortion service providers to deliver high-quality care by supporting infrastructure and security upgrades.”
“It is essential for women’s health and economic wellbeing to have access to high-quality reproductive health care services,” Healey said in the press release. “These grants will help ensure that cost is not a barrier for anyone to seek the care they need, while also supporting our hardworking service providers in making critical infrastructure and security upgrades that allow them to deliver safe, high-quality care.”
Healey has launched a spirited campaign to promote induced abortion — the direct and intentional killing of preborn children — during her tenure as governor. Notably, while she wants to ensure that abortionists have all the resources they need to kill more preborn children, she has actively worked to stifle the work of pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) that offer aid, assistance, and options to women who may want to keep their babies.

Last year, Healey spent $1 million in taxpayer funds on an ad campaign slandering PRCs, and issued an advisory warning people against visiting the facilities because they don’t promote abortion. The smear campaign against PRCs coupled with the increase in pro-abortion funding only ensures that more of the state’s preborn citizens will be killed.
“Massachusetts is proud to be a national leader in preserving and expanding access to reproductive health care,” added Healey, “and we’re going to continue to make sure that patients and providers have the resources they need.”
Per Healey’s statement, the recent funding marks the second allocation of awards under the pro-abortion grants; funding is expected to continue until December 31, 2026.
