AG Pam Bondi orders investigation into Biden-Harris DOJ’s targeting of pro-lifers

Shortly after winning the election, President Donald Trump nominated Pam Bondi to serve as U.S. Attorney General, and shortly after Trump’s inauguration, Bondi was confirmed in a Senate vote that largely ran along party lines. Almost immediately, Bondi announced one of her first actions: opening an investigation into the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Biden-Harris administration’s weaponization of the department against the pro-life movement.

Just hours after taking office, Bondi sent a memo announcing the formation of a “Weaponization Working Group” that will investigate the politicization of the DOJ, and how political bias influenced federal investigations and prosecutions. This includes abuses of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, according to Fox News.

Under the Biden-Harris administration, the fall of Roe v. Wade due to the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court decision triggered the weaponization of the DOJ, even as FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that 70% of abortion-related violence was being committed by pro-abortion activists against the pro-life movement.

And yet, there were astonishingly few investigations into pro-abortion crimes; 22 FACE Act violation charges were brought against pro-lifers in 22 cases since 2021, compared to just two filed against abortion activists in that same period of time. That means prosecutions of pro-life individuals made up over 90% of FACE Act cases. And while the FACE Act was enacted 30 years ago in 1994, the Daily Caller reported that the Biden DOJ alone brought more than a quarter of all FACE Act prosecutions in just four years.

While the pro-life movement came under attack by the Biden-Harris administration, few instances of pro-abortion violence were investigated, as noted by Congressman Chip Roy. A recent hearing also featured testimony from pro-life individuals and politicians, who argued that the weaponization was a purposeful endeavor specifically meant to instill fear in the pro-life movement and to intimidate pro-lifers into silence and inaction.
