Life has gotten hard for Planned Parenthood boss Cecile Richards.
Well, not really: she still makes almost six hundred thousand dollars a year and has supportive friends in the media. However, her credibility is looking a little rough.
This all started in mid-July when the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) released a video of Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, talking about illegally selling organs from aborted children.
She also discusses changing how abortions are performed in order to make organ collection easier, something federal law prohibits. And, at four minutes and ten seconds into the video above, Nucatola seems to advocate performing gruesome and illegal partial-birth abortions.
Richards responded quickly, denying that Planned Parenthood profits “in any way” from the transfer of fetal tissue. CMP’s next video made that kind of tough to believe.
This video features the president of Planned Parenthood’s Medical Council, Dr. Mary Gatter. Gatter explicitly admits that the desire to harvest a child’s organs can determine how he or she is aborted. But what really stands out is the doctor’s negotiating skills. Gatter makes it clear she doesn’t want a “lowball” price, and at seven minutes and fifty-seven seconds, she explains why: “I want a Lamborghini.”
Video number three followed, and it included an interview with Holly O’Donnell, a phlebotomist whose job was to salvage organs from aborted children. The footage continues to disprove Richard’s claim that Planned Parenthood isn’t trying to make money from the sale of body parts.
However, O’Donnell alludes to a much older lie. At three minutes and fifty-four seconds into the video, she mentions “the poor girls who half the time don’t even want to get abortions.”
While Planned Parenthood has long claimed to provide “choice,” O’Donnell’s comment indicates otherwise. That isn’t just her opinion: there’s research suggesting more than half of women who abort feel pressured to do so. And as plenty of cases have shown, they can face horrific violence when they refuse.
Tasha Rossett did. She was found dead with a slashed throat after refusing her boyfriend’s demand for an abortion. Other women have been shot, stabbed, burned, smothered, and beaten to death for doing the same. It’s not surprising that abusive men would be fans of abortion; it’s a lot cheaper than child support.
Human traffickers like abortion too, since it’s a good way to keep their victims working. In the video below, you can listen to a former trafficking victim describe how she was forced into having two abortions, something she calls “the hardest.”
Of course, it’s not hard to set up a coerced abortion when you can go to someone like Amy Woodruff for help. Woodruff was a Planned Parenthood clinic director in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and in 2011, Live Action investigators recorded her with hidden cameras.
Although the investigators claimed to be pimps using child prostitutes, Woodruff wasn’t bothered. In fact, she offered to arrange involuntary abortions on girls who “can’t speak English” and “won’t know what’s going on.”
Forced abortion is also a great option for sexual predators. After all, a baby bump on an underage victim can raise dangerous questions. That’s why Gary Cross brought his 13 year-old stepdaughter to Planned Parenthood after impregnating her. Clinic staff didn’t alert authorities to the fact that she was pregnant and well below the age of consent. Instead, they referred her for a late-term abortion, thus allowing the abuse to continue on undetected. John Blanks, Jr., Adam Gault, Timothy Smith, and Denise Fairbanks’ father all got similar help from Planned Parenthood too.
Sometimes doctors are the ones doing the coercing. Ayanna Byer went to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains for an abortion in 2013. She later claimed in a lawsuit that although she changed her mind before the procedure began, she was prevented from leaving. Further, the abortionist left pieces of Byer’s child inside of her, causing an infection.
From organ sales to forced abortions, there’s a lot at Planned Parenthood to dislike.
Here’s something you may not like either: Planned Parenthood is getting your money. Every year, the group receives over half a billion dollars in federal funding. If you want that to stop, sign Live Action’s petition asking Congress to end the abortion chain’s subsidy.
Because as it stands, you’re helping Planned Parenthood… whether you want to or not.
